Help please with SW Meringue

I tried to make one this afternoon and I think it went very wrong :sigh:. It was soggy and eggy...

How do you make yours? Any tips would be very much appreciated.
 
I made it this morning too and I had the same result, was more like a sponge cake without the flour and air lol

Some one plz rescue my meringues, I was hoping for light crispy nests!!
 
make sure your bowl is very clean.Dont want to sound rude but if there is any grease(even egg yolk in the mix)it will kill your meringue.
Make sure oven is preheated.
Beat to stiff peaks then fold in sweetener with metal spoon-dont use whisk or you will beat the air out of it.
Never open oven during cooking to check it.
Leave to cool in oven with door closed before removing.

Thank you - I will give this a try. I did whisk the sweetner into the egg whites and I did open the oven door a couple of times to check on it ! Really would like crispy meringues :0)
