Wish me luck on Monday.

The hospital have phoned with the appointment for my MRI on my head ordered by my oncologist. What a weird time it is at..............8.30 p.m

I am not in the least bit worried as I am convinced it is only arthritis in my neck causing pain in my head. A bit apprehensive but not worried.

Not sure if you have had a MRI before? I have them every 6 months as I have a benign brain tumor but they basically lay you down and will put your head in a cage. They will put earphones in, sometimes theres music in them most of the time not. But If you get scared there is a mirroir abvove your head where you can see them. I concentrate on that as i am really claustrophobic and get scared if i cant see them.

You will have a button to press if you dont like it (which i do all the time i go in and out about 3 or 4 times as i work myself up) but try and think .... should take my own advice... that the more you go in and out the longer it will take.

Fatty no more........I have had several MRI's as I have had breast cancer.

Do they put your whole body in the tube ??? Or is it just your head ??? I hate that tube.

I would love to know before I go. It would really put my mind at rest.

they put your whole body in up to say your knees babes. I am glad you know what to expect. I hate them to be honest with you.

At least I know what to expect now gulp !!! Thanks for the info.

I always used to be frightened I wouldn't fit in the tube, but at least now I am roughly 2 stones slimmer.

I am all ready for the off, bathed, smelling sweet and ready for anything !!!
 
That was quite something.

The MRI itself was fine o.k. only lasted 8 minutes and it was the latest high tec. machine so just my head went in that was such a relief. The noise is incredible.

I had the cage just as F.N.M. said so that was no shock....thanks.

My appointment was 8.30 p.m. I eventually went in at 10.15p.m.

Seriously, I never get cross when I am kept waiting at the hospital there is always a good reason.

It was 11.30p.m. by the time we got home and after midnight by the time we had eaten very quickly russelled up omelettes. How delicious they tasted.

I asked the technician what time she was going to finish....she said at about 3 a.m. The hospital has such a backlog of patients waiting for MRI's that they need to work through the night......what amazing service !!!

though there is some doubt as to whether they will be ready by then. I have to pick them up to take them to the hospital in Valencia, so they are trying to rush them through for me.
