I have thought through what everyone kindly advised me to do and I think I need to aim for 1lbs a week instead of expecting my body to do miracles every single week of 2-4lbs so0o0o0o0..........

I have 75lbs left to lose too maintance having lost 31lbs so at 1lb a week it will take 75 weeks which is 22 November 2011 ,I did have my goal as 1st October 2011 my 42nd Birthday so not too far off there I may get some 1.5,2lbs weeks to get to the target. Weight loss total 7 stone 8lbs

I am still going to struggle at times with slow losses its most peoples :D to get big losses but Im now hoping I will lose each week.....

Thanks for all your support xx

Good on you, I am very impressed!!! I think its VITAL to set realistic goals, and I honestly believe you have done that. Some weeks you may lose a little more so that will cancel out any bad weeks like xmas. So you will def achieve this hon.

Well done. Now, why not plan a wee weekend away or something for that date as extra incentive??

Wow Purple Star! 132lb lost. That is amazing!! Gives me hope and motivation :)

Just read your other thread, and would just like to add -

Anyone losing 3-5 EVERY week isn't following the plan!! Big losses are fine now and again but really it should average out to 1-2lbs a week. My average when I worked it out was 2.5lb per week but I was much heavier than you to start with so lost very quickly initially.

In terms of excercise, are you def really pushing yourself? The body quickly adjusts to what you are doing and if you don't keep challenging it you will plateau with your fitness. Surprising your body by working out at a different time and in a different way is a great way to get a calorie burn boost, if you do the same thing every day your body will become very efficient at fueling your excercise and therefore burn less cals. Its really important to change your excercies programme every 4 weeks or so. Resistance excercise is very important to build muscle and increase your metabolism, also will help prevent osteoporosis.

I think its fab you have lost every week. Some of those people you see with big losses, chances are they won't sustain that for long. SLow and steady wins the race :)

Good idea :D a weekend away with OH at goal maybe somewhere abroad as Ive only ever been to Paris 1990  lol I think that can be his goal present to me although he didnt know he was getting me one lol ;) xx

HI, you've done so well, you go girl, you'll soon get there:)

Oh thanks, still learning every day though about maintenance!!!

If I can get to goal, anyone can honestly!!!

How does it feel to have lost all that weight? How long did it take you? So fantastic! Hopefully I will prove I can do it too.

I'm like you at first i though woo 3lbs 4lbs off etc then it got to 1lb a week and i was like WHAAAAT but now i like having 1lb off a week! :) it's nice and steady and like last week i had a binge for birthday and put on 3lbs... but it came off in less than a week! simply cause my body has got use to what i'm doing love being back at my starting weight for june now lol! i want to be 11st eventually so that's 1st 9lbs away! 9 weeks to get to 12st and then 14 afterwards! :) meaning in 23weeks i should be at goal! :D (hope ive worked that out right!!) lol it's a nice feeling knowing your edging there :) good luck and keep up the good work! xx

22nd November is my birthday!! That will be my 43rd. I'm hoping to be at target for my 42nd too. I'd like a dirty weekend away with loads of new lingerie. OH had better oblige!!!

You can do that I know you can

Well done you. I think this is a fab idea and very doable. If you think about the yo yo years, 75 weeks is no time at all to finally get to goal. one advantage of getting older - time goes quicker ;)

Huge well done for this, I am so pleased you have re thought your goals :happy096: and oh should def treat you to a holiday.

Thanks girls.

Yeah I did it in a year and all with ww, was very focussed. I joined when my lil boy was only 5 weeks, so the first couple of stone fell off, some was prob still excess fluid and that. I did a lot of excercise, even back then, I dropped my lil girl at her nursery school and walked my lil boy for the full 2 hours she was at nursery school. Then moved on to the gym.

I honestly don't know how I kept so focussed. I suppose it helped that because I was so big to start with, I soon noticed a big difference. And when I started to feel fitter and healthier, my whole attitude changed, I suddenly wanted to look after my body by nourishing it healthily - as odd as that must sound lol.

I have actually got a bit health obsessed if I am honest, I was always like that with kids diet - but now mine too. I have even stopped eating meat now, and buy organic veg when its reduced (I am on a tight budget!) and even wee things like making sure I always have sunscreen on. I just seem to have finally, for the first time in my life, decided to look after myself properly.

How are you getting on, I love reading your posts, you are soooo motivated :)
