HEXB flapjacks

Still rockin' it
Flapjacks!!!

These are perfect for when staying away from home as a portable breakfast- or just anytime as a snack! VERY filling and feels (and smells) like you're really baking

On the basis that you can split your HEXB this recipe includes a total of 10 HEX B (all plans) and 5 syns- the recipe makes 10 flapjacks so each flapjack is 1 HEXB plus half a syn OR 6.5 syns if not counted as HEXB.

Ingredients:
128g ready to eat prunes
106g ready to eat apricots
3 tablespoons olive oil
120g porridge oats
2 tablespoons honey
1-2 tablespoon(s) sweetner (if you like things extra sweet although I prefer it without)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
half teaspoon salt

Method:
Pulse the prunes and apricots in a food processor until chopped very fine. Add in the rest of the ingredients and stir the claggy mixture very well.
Spray a shallow tin (approx 5 inches by 8?) with fry light and spoon mixture in and press down.

Bake for 20 minutes at 180C/350F/ gas mark 4. Run a knife along the edge of the cooked mixture and cut into 10 pieces while still hot (they will feel soft at this point but don't worry- they get crisper as they cool). Leave them in the tray to cool and once cool, store or eat!

Sounds lovely but of course the problem is trying not to eat them all at once! Even when maintaining I think 10 HEBs in a day might be a bit much :D

Thank-you :D I think I will try these, they sound a lot better than alpen lights.

All I'll need is willpower to limit myself to one a day :break_diet::D

xxxx

think it would work without the oilive oil as i dont have any but do have spray olive oil and if i am right this would take away 3 hex

This sounds scrummy!
I've been looking for an alternative to alpen bars & really like cooking so this would be perfect!

I have a few questions, could someone answer as i'm a newbie to slimming world & a bit slow

I have all the ingredients apart from the prunes, would i be able to make this recipe without the prunes? If i could, would i have to reduce the rest of the ingredients? Also how many syns would this be on a green day? ( & if it will count for a HEX a or b?)

Thank you! :D

The 2 types of fruit make up 3 of the HEBs (3 for oil and 4 for oats)
So i think if you only have the apricots use 213g of apricots. (s HEB) which keeps the quantity of ingredients almost the same and the syns and HEB are then unaffected.

Thank you! I might wait until tommorow to make them, just to be sure!

It's so confusing how the hex's & syns are worked out....I hope i get my head round things soon! :d'oh:

It does all seem confusing to begin with, but once you get the hang of it, it pretty easy really.

this recipe uses dried apricots, dried prunes, oil and oats - all of which can be used as a HEB
1 HEB = 71g apricots
= 85g prunes
= 1 TBSP oil
=30g oats

the recipe uses 128g of prunes which is 1.5 HEB
106g apricots which is 1.5 HEB
3 TBSP oil which is 3 HEBs
120g oats which is 4 HEBs

So total recipe is 10 HEB's ( because it is ok to split your HEB)
so each bar ( recipe makes 10 pieces) is 1 HEB made up of a little bit of each product. + 0.5 syn for the 1/10th share in honey syns

so they are 1 HEB + 0,5 syn or if you dont want to use a HEB the syns work out to 6.5 syns ( HEB = 6syns)

Oh! *Honey!!! Thank you so much for explaining! I've only been doing slimming world less than a week & obviously haven't read enough because i didn't realise i could have oats! Duhhh! Silly me!

I've just looked at all the hex's & there is so much more i can have, yay! I've just been having babybel cheese & alpen bars.

i made them never used the oil but did add nuts and they were lovely:)

Did it work ok with no oil then?? some nuts instead of the oil does sound good.

mine are yummy ( as per recipe) :)
think i might do some experimenting and tweaking myself

Only problem is that the nuts will not be a HEB on red or EE - so you would need to syn them
