Hi I know Ive moaned before but its puzzling me why do I have slow losses?

I do ww 100% not 1 blip in 16 weeks

I exercise 6 days a week 2x 30 mins cardio one of them is interval training,I have been since week 4

I dont drive so walk everywhere

I eat heathly filling foods a takeaway of chicken shish kebab once every 2 weeks

I weigh measure and track daily EVERYTHING

Im only 5ft 2in and still weigh 15st 1lbs and have 5 stone 4lbs to lose to the highest end of healthy BMI

I cant understand how I lose 1-2lbs every week,I think it makes me fail as I see people lose 3-4-5 lbs a week and I am really pleased for them and I am in for the long hull but most people get ped off with 1-2lbs every week even those who say I planned to lose 1lbs a week.

I think this is why I do VLCD as I lose 3lbs every week but I know I find them as tough as hell.

This isnt a moan its just a confused person  lol
so please dont say Im having a moan or dig at people with low losses this is me confused thats all

xx

:)hi, just wanted to say that you've done great, with what you've done so far, know it sounds crazy but even 1/2lb a week makes me happy, as i said in previouse post mine been a secenic route, but, remember the slower it comes off, the less you'll be likely to put it back on.(well that's what i keep saying to myself!!!!):)

i must say, i know now that my losses are down to 1lb a week i am very peed off :-(

what age are you hunni? maybe you have a slow metabolism? did it take you long to get to your size?

huge mrs, its horrible eh? xxxx

do you vary your diet? drink a lot of water? eat any of your activity points? do you calculate your points correctly ie one serving aka a slice of bread being 1/2 point but 2 servings are 1.5pts etc?

6 x 2 30 min training sessions is a lot and your body needs to rest a bit too, if your not eating any of your activity points it could be your body is thinking its under stress because of the exercise and no rest and be in the mindset of having to retain as much fat as possible.

Hi I am 40 ...41 in October and I think ive damaged my metabolism as I did 5 years of vlcd like cambridge and lighterlife ,but they say exercise will get the metabolism back???
I was on high meds for 2 years 2006-2008 for depression and I gained weight over 8 months 3 stone what with that and yoyoing?
It is horrible and I am really pleased for fast losers I just get :cry: at slow losses every week thanks hun xx

Hi I do drink 1.5 litres of water a day and caffine free green tea,I do eat simialr foods though have started to change them,I am red hot on calculating points

I know it sounds alot of exercise but have read and read again when we do VLCDs as I did for 5 years our metabolism slows to near o and the only way to get it back is to exercise and build muscle hence this is why I exercise, but I do feel exercise gets fat off look at the biggest loser and celbs thats how they do it?
I have cut down this week as I did 130,000 steps the weekend over 3 days at the isle of wight festival?
Thanks xx

It is really disheartening to have slow losses - I know I'm nearing the end now, but slow losses are still a pain. As are ruddy STS weeks! But......I guess you just have to keep focusing on where you were a few months ago. Looking at clothes that are too big for you, looking forward at clothes you'd like to fit in to etc. Try to vary the diet a little bit - nothing boosts the metabolism like a bit of change. Some weeks I try to be low-carb other weeks I have totally different dinners etc. Unfortunately the body quickly adapts to what we put it through and then decides to stick where it is. At the moment you're not at a plateau so I guess 'mixing things up' might not have the desired effect but it might be worth a try? I'd try to incorporate some different foods first and see if that helps. Then maybe change your workouts a bit - try new things, try doing less one week more the next etc etc. That's all I can suggest really hun. You're doing a great job - chin up chuck. Losing weight is always hard and like you say - you're in it for the long haul so unfortunately you just have to keep pegging away at it. Sending you positive vibes x x

yeh building muscle improves your metabolism.

I know exercise burns calories but sometimes if you don't eat enough and exercise a lot it can send the body into shock, not saying thats the reason ofc though.

You eating plenty of proteins?

As for mix of food it really does effect your losses for example kirsty on here think her username is 3stonetogo she was eating virtually the same thing everyday for a month and losing 1lb a week, she switched it up completely and lost 6lb.

It must suck to loose only 1lb a week when you put 110% effort in it doesn't seem fair especially when others can cheat and loose big, but I think the "cheat" is a mix up of the routine and it boosts the loss.

I know how you feel. I will never lose more than 1.5lb in a week. No matter what I d. And there seem to be no big first losses with me either. I think I messed my metaboism up by basically eating next to nothing for months on end when divorcing and depressed. I'm exactly the same age, and am reiably informed that it won't come back. Age slows it, and be prepared for it to slow further after menopause! Great!! Great!! Nothing to do but plug away. Better to diet and lose a lb, than not and put 2 on!!

I so agree with the above post. I know its probably not what you want to hear but you are not losing slowly 1-1.5lbs a week may be not what you want to lose but its a great loss all the same.

I think pondering so much on this is not doing any good. It may be worth changing things up a bit but if this is the amount that your body is losing each week you may just have to learn to accept that other people are always going to lose faster and whatever you do may not change the rate you lose.

Its the old glass half empty or half full sort of thing. You could be sad about what you wish you were losing and still lose the same or be happy for what you are losing and still lose the same. Same results just different attitude. I know its not always that easy, as you know I've got my grumpy head on atm but keep on being proud of what you have achieved, the scenic route still gets to the end and has a nicer view along the way.xxx

Just wanted to add that not everyone follows the plan in a healthy way either which may lead to them losing quicker than they should

To be honest how many people are losing 3/4/5lbs as a matter of course. almost none I bet :) Sometimes I thinkk we're way too hard on ourselves. Honestly 1/1.5lbs is really good....if you can maintain that youre doing brillliantly

Hi :( I think we will do this before the menopause :) maybe we have realised now that yoyoing has damaged our bodies, but reading here I suppose its best a little off every week than sts or on hey :) I have in my head set my losses at 1.5lbs so I hope to average this I like you have to see its not going to be more and if I dont do this 100% I will sts gain ......
Well done for getting on the right track after what youve ben through been there myself and its an awful time isnt it xxx Thanks hun :)
