Subway??

Can anyone please explain why Subway is so high in syns?

I looked at the turkey one and the directory says 13 syns??!!

I think the meat and salad should be free on a red day, so are the syns just for the bread.

I dont have cheese and would go without dressing too.

I asked my C tonight and she reckons even the salad boxes are synned - why?!

I'd love to know this too, we were up at the Metro Centre on Sunday and when planning in advance where to eat, saw that Subway was really high on syns (as was even a baked potato at Weatherspoons!)

A lot of it will be down to the bread but I think that many of the meats used in Subway are not 'proper' lean meats but processed, which will also play a part. When you think about it a slice of bread comes in at around 5 syns for a medium slice and there is a lot more in a baguette type bread.

Yeah I agree the bread will be the majority of syns and I hadn't thought about the meat being processed.

Damn it, was so looking forward to having this tomorrow. Looks like I'll treat myself to some chicken from M&S instead.
