AlicePalice's food diary

I started Slimming World on Monday and thought it would help to keep a track of what I'm eating and how I'm feeling.

Start Weight: 10st 12oz
Goal Weight: 9st 7oz
Total to lose: 21lbs

I've been sticking to Extra Easy and liking how much variety of food is allowed.

Day 1. Monday. SYNS = 3.5 (3.5/10)
B: Total 0% fat greek yoghurt with strawberries, blueberries and a banana
L: Pasta with passatta and bacon with 28g cheddar (HexA) with brocolli, carrots and sweetcorn
D: Baked sweet potato with chilli (made with lean mince rather than extra lean, so syned it as 3.5) made with 1tbsp olive oil (HexB) [I realise now that I should have had another HexB and syned the oil as I didn't eat a whole tbsp worth, but hey, day 1, I'll let it go ;)]with veg in the chilli, and more veg on the side.
Snacks: 1 apple

Day 2. Tuesday. SYNS = 3.5 (7/20)
B: Mullerlight, strawberries and blueberries, 2 weetabix (HexB)
L: Baked sweet potato, with tuna mayo (1 tbsp extra light mayo = 0.5 syns) and sweetcorn, with salad. Mullerlight
D: salmon fillet, new potatoes, green beans and babycorn
Snacks: 1 banana, Bio Yoghurt, 2 Babybels (HexA), 1 Alpen Light (4.5 syns)

Day 3. Wednesday. SYNS = 10.5 (17.5/30)
B: Bio yoghurt, 1 pear, strawberries, blueberries, 2 weetabix (HexB), 3 small figs
L: Big salad with tuna mayo (1 tbsp extra light mayo = 0.5 syns). Mullerlight.
D: Chicken and Bacon pasta bake (with 42g mozzarella included for HexA). Mars ice cream bar (7 syns)
Snacks: 1 Alpen Light (3 syns)

I'm feeling tired but I don't think that's down to the diet. So pleased to be eating much more fruit and veg but a bit windy because of it! Glad the kids can have what I'm having and don't have to cook separate meals - they are eating more healthily now too which is a bonus.

edited to change syn values of Alpens - thanks!

Hi AlicePalice

Welcome to SW :)

I have been looking at your diary (which looks really good). Just thought I'd let you know that alpen light bars are only 3 syns, not 4.5 :)

Really!? In my Green book it says all varieties are 4.5 each on EE - I will check again..... ooooh I hope they are because they're yummy!

Thanks :)

Wooooohooooo! Thank you :D

Thank you :)

Day 4 - Thursday - Sys = 10 (27.5/40)

B: FF Bio Yoghurt with 2 weetabix (HexB), grapes, pear and strawberries

L: Left overs of the pasta from last night. Only about 1/4 of the dish, so only counting it as 1/2 the HeA so I had 1 Babybel to make it up.

D: Chicken 'kebabs' - chicken with roasted peppers and mushrooms, served with salad and garlic potatos (delicious but SO garlicy - had to go to a school funtion last night and v.aware I stank!) I used 1/2tbsp of oil for this, so 3 syns

Mars ice cream bar (7 syns)

Day 5 - Friday - Syns 10 (37.5/50)

B: Mullerlight, 2 weetabix (HexB) pear, banana

L: Jacket potato with prawns which I mixed with 2 tbsp of extra light mayo (1 syn) and 1 tbsp of ketchup (1 syn) and had with a salad

D: Steak which, when was cooked put a tsp of lurpack lighter (1.5 syns) mixed with garlic - it was delicious! Corn on the cob with 1tsp of lurpack lighter (1.5 syns), cooked tomato, mushrooms and courgettes, with a few frylight-roasted potatos. Mullerlight.

I cut all the fat off the edges of the steak but it dawned on me after that it was rib eye steak and therefore has fat running through it. I have no idea how to count this so have allowed 5 syns - do you think thats ok? it was about the size of my palm and a 1/4.

Haven't had my HexA yet so will probably have a bit of cheese later on or a glass of milk

Day 6 - GREEN - Saturday - Syns 17.5 (55/60)

Breakfast:

Mullerlight
2 Weetabix (HexB1)
Banana
Pear
Grapes

Lunch:

2 x 28g cheddar (HexA1+2)
2 tsp Lurpack Lighter (3 syns)
Alpen Light (3 syns)

Dinner:

Pasta
113g tinned tuna (HexB2)
3 tbsp extra light mayo (1.5 syns)
corn cut from corn on cob
petit pois
green chillis
Mars Ice Cream bar (7 syns)

Snacks:

Another Alpen Light (3 syns)
FF Bio Yoghurt
6 apricots

I didn't enjoy doing green at all. I felt like I ate more bad foods and ended up using lots of syns. I was hungry and have wanted to pick all day. Straight back to Extra Easy for me!

I am a photographer, and have a wedding coming up next week so went to try to get some black linen trousers..... size 12 in Dorothy Perkins were too small :( I MUST be a size 10 again, I must I must I must

I made an absolute schoolgirl error today - I had a Covent Garden Soup today (the tomato and basil) as I thought that it was a HexB it would be about 6syns, not looking at the quantities (idiot!) and went out straight after, only just looked in the book to find out syn value before dinner - 13 SYNS! ARGHHH! I so would not have wasted that amount on bloody tomato soup! At least it's only taken me 1 syn over for the week (already had eaten the Alpen before I found it out) but its taught me the lesson to LOOK BEFORE YOU EAT!

Annnnyway - today's menu:

Day 6 - Sunday - Extra Easy - 16 syns (71/70)

Breakfast:
Mullerlight (rasp & cranberry - NOT a good combo for this brekkie!)
2 Weetabix (HexB)
banana
grapes
apricot

Lunch:
Covent Garden Tomato and Basil Soup (13 syns grrr)
28g cheddar (HexA)

Snack:
Alpen Light (3 syns)

Dinner:
Pasta
Sauce I made by frying the following in Frylight:
Chicken
Bacon
1/2 onion
2 cloves garlic
1/2 orange pepper
1/2 courgette
2 tomatos
passatta
balsamic vinegar

Was delicious and I have a portion left for tomorrow.

Weigh in tomorrow!!!!!!!

A good lesson to learn! I need to make sure I do that too! Don't beat yourself up too much, just a little blip!!

Your pasta dish sounds lovveeellly! Kinda like what I had, but mine had a bit too much chilli powder in and it almost blew my head off (and I'm a spice queen!!)

Good luck for weigh in, let us know how it goes :) your menus for this week have been really good so hopefully you get the loss you deserve :) x

Thank you :) I lost 1.5lbs which Im pleased about, but goes to show that I must stick to it 100%, as I've done so this week and not had a massive loss. Someone in class said its because I dont have much to lose it will come off slower. Lets see. Onwards and downwards!

I've ordered the Extra Easy and Curry Heaven cookbooks from my class too - will look forward to those arriving. I had a look at the family feasts for a fiver book too - there's a recipe in there for sweet potato tortilla which looks DIVINE but there wasn't much else in there that looked amazing or I didn't know how to do.

Now to figure out adding a ticker.....!

just testing to see if my sig works

Im meeting friends for dinner on Sunday night - but now we might just be drinking instead of eating, so I dont know if its worth me saving my syns (I don't drink so won't need to spend any syns if we do that). If we do eat out it will be tapas so will have a look at the menu and see if there are any options there that would work for me.

I got an email today to say Im going to be testing out a new at home laser-lipo type slimming gadget which is meant to help you lose inches - Im testing it for 2 weeks - really hope it works!

edited to add the Galaxy!

Still not feeling great today - stayed home catching up on Sky+ while OH took the kids out for the day, I was much more tempted to pick - but I restrained myself! My BIL came over with OH at the end of the day and said "wow you've lost weight" (he only saw me two weeks ago) he said you can really notice it off my face already - thank God! I have to say, I feel my tummy has gone down a teeny bit :)

I've felt like this a few times, forcing myself to have a cup of milk when all I want to do is sleep! It doesn't matter if you don't, or so I've been told, but it's important not to carry on HExs to the next day... common sense, I'd say, but my mum tried to convince me she could - I lost, she gained!

Don't know if you're into Supersize vs Superskinny but in last week's ep, Anna Richardson tried out a lipo-laser device and though it's pain free, she had to go on one of those extreme vibration plate thingies for 5-10mins straight after using the gadget to burn the fat off, otherwise she wouldn't lose it! Not sure how yours will work but might be worth searching for the episode somewhere :) She did lose an inch off her tummy and half an inch off each leg, I think?

Awww, it's nice to have someone compliment you, especially when you're feeling down! Stay positive, enjoy the weather :) xxx
