combination microwave/Oven info

Yesterday our combi-microwave went out with a bang :( it's about 5 years old. I was hoping that someone might have tips for a new one.
We had a sharp 40 Litre one before as we find it handy to use a small oven for the family, we only use the cooker oven for roast dinners or if we have guests.

Anyway there are lots of these things on the market and several new features, I was wondering if anyone had any personal experience with the "crisp" function (whirlpool), the "crust" function (Samsung), the "steam" function and if anyone has a quartz grill (and how good is it).

I realise this may not be the forum to post on but many of you out there seem to be a dab hand in the kitchen and might have experience with these things (don't get me wrong, I'm a guy but I do most of the cooking at home).

Any general info or experiences would also be very welcome.
