Greek salads!! And you can have feta cheese as a HEXA. Ask for no dressing on the salad.

Grilled meat and fish.

Yeah I would say grilled meats, fish & salads.

If you are cooking yourself then your in charge of the majority, just allow syns for the "hidden" syns when eating out :)

Enjoy your holiday!!

I think that there is a section on eating abroad on the sw website - and I am sure that there is a section on Greece!

Lots of salads and grilled meat kebabs, griddled veggies and fresh seafood. nom nom nom

have a lovely holiday :)

I have just returned from Greece and in that week put on 9lbs !!!! My doing totally as i dieted ready for this holiday for over a year so I am not going to give myself a hard time. I work for my holidays so i didn't restrict myself. I wanted to enjoy every mouthful. I thoroughly enjoyed fresh warm bread with butter, loads of olives, fresh hummous stuffed vine leaves, lamb kleftiko, halva etc etc.
You have to be very vigilant if eating out. The feta is marinaded in olive oil soaked herbs and all the grilled meats, fish and vegetables are drowning in the stuff (and very yummy it was too). If you want to keep to food optimizing I suggest you limit the number of times you eat out but take advantage of the wonderful fruits and vegetables available in the supermarkets or real markets. Oh and by the way, can i come please xxx???

I agree with grilled meats & greek salad (without olive oil), I've been to the greek islands about 4 times and especially love the fresh sea food (especially when you find a little cafe in a not too touristy seaside town that serves locally caught fish) mmmmm :)

I will be going to Cyprus in July and I'm dreading it as I love things like Baclava and greek yoghurt with honey, Luckily my goal date is the start of the holiday (but it would be a shame to have lost weight for nothing ).

In the past we had just a breakfast at the hotel but now we also have an evening meal, so I'll have to wait and see.

Luckily we do have a kitchenette in the appartment so I do have a chance to make some fresh greek salads (if we're not out and about). There is of course plenty of fresh fruit :)

I'll definately be following this thread to pick up any (low syn) tips
