Hi Okay I dont want to sound miserable here but this is now a worry for me.

I live on the isle of wight and its the isle of wight festival starting properly tomorrow, okay Ive never at 40 been to a concert or festival etc Im afraid Im not a great lover of big crowds and there will be approx 55000 people there.

The thing is my OH really really wants to go every year,he says he has 2 tickets today he got cheaper,I said to him last night I dont really want to go,I have a problem with the loos lol its sounds funny its not if I get neverous or anxious I want to go all the time this is a long on going thing and the qs for the loos are vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv long.

Also there as we can imagion are 100's of very slim sexy young girls in skimpy clothes and ill be in my 18's with not much in the way of fashionable clothes as losing weight.

I know Im moaning but its now a case of 24 hours time and he said he has tickets and I already did explain how anxious I was. I want to stck to plan am saving 3 points a day for the weekend.

Any advice? I know there will be all people of shapes n sizes and I wont be the largest but my confidence is low :wave_cry:

Look at how great you are doing! You've lost 2 stone and thoroughly deserve to hold your head up high as you strut your funky stuff at the festival. I understand your fears, but you know that our own demons inside our heads are always far, far worse than the reality. My piano tuner loves this festival (a bit of an old hippy!), and I was surprised to find my friend's dad goes each year (he's an Aston Martin driving IT person! - it takes all sorts!!), and always has a great time. You will feel so great if you can find the courage to go ... you won't be the largest, or the most anxious, or the only one who has never been to a gig before ... and we are all behind you every step of the way x

:) ahhh thankyou you are really nice,it is an event that I will regret not going to its only 1/2 hour walk from my house, theres always big acts Pinks there and loads of other big names....
You are right 100% what you say I just need a kick up my confidence :(
Thankyou again xxxx

I've been to the Isle of Wight festival loads of times and honestly it's a much more grown up crowd than what you get at different festivals. The site isn't packed compared to other festivals and there are as many chunky people as there are skinny ones.

I don't really remember queuing for the toilets there either, they seem to have got the number right. My top tip for festival loos though if there is a queue is to run to the front of the queue, hover near the side where you can see if there are any vacant toilets and then dash for one. EVERY time the people queuing just wait for someone to come out, so there are ALWAYS empty toilets. Ok so they might not always be the nicest loos, but they are kept relatively clean and stocked with loo roll.

It really is a great festival, but if you don't like crowds I would say to avoid moving from the main stage to the other field after the main act has finished. There's only a small gate between the two and all the campers head that way, along with anyone else wanting to stay later, so it gets a bit rammed. If you're quick, or hang back though, no problem!

Oh and the hipshaker lounge is loads of fun - God i'm so jealous i'm not going this year!

:) Hi, firstly well done on your 2stone off. Secondly, look on the bright side, at a size 18, you most definately, will not be the biggest person there!!!! When i was a size 30, i wouldn't go anywhere, but now i'm into 20's(nearly 18's), ilove going out.
The other thing is, would you have time to nip into town and maybe just treat yourself to a new pair of jeans or a top, to show of your new shape(it's bound to give you a major boost. Anyway, let us know howyou get on. Hope you enjoy it:)

Hi there you read my mind Im going to go buy something to wear,I dont wear jeans over a size 16 being a shortie lol But I fancy a couple of nice summery tops and leggins as my legs arent too bad lol
Thankyou for your support you know what its like its confidence :(
Super well done you 5 nearly 6 dress sizes wow how long did it take you? xx

:) hi, good for you buying the new tops!.It's been a very very secenic route, of 2.5 years:) have a great weekend!!!!!!

Some great advice here so not much else to add except have a great time and go with your head held high. You have done a great job with the weight loss and have a lot to be proud of.

I find it useful to remind myself that other people are too concerned with having a good time to be interested it me, and has already been said you will certainly not be the biggest person there. But even if you were so what? Have a fab time

I like to find someone fatter than me and then stand next to them - such an ego boost, although probably not for the larger person, not that they know my intentions!

Hope you have a great time at the festival hun.

Sure you will come back glad that you went - I go to festivals and to be fair, I can't wash for 5 days. That's the thing about festivals, everyone is just having a good time and they have no interest in what anyone else looks like :) And to be fair - everyone is in the same boat, either a bit sweaty or a bit smelly or a bit short! Try not to worry!

Isle of wight festival has proper showers - cubicles with changing areas and hot water - Thats why i love that festival!
