Shellie's Maintaining Diary

Hello!
I didn't keep a food diary whilst I was losing, but from what I've read on here, maintaining seems to be a big battle.

As I've got to keep a food diary for this week, I thought that I might as well doing one on here too!

I mostly do Red days - mainly because I love my meat and not particularly keen on pasta and rice etc.

To maintain, I've got to start having 3 B choices and 10 syns a day. Up until now, I mostly have 4 syns a day, apart from weekends when I'll have a few beers :-D

I'm not sure that I'm going to have the confidence to do this straight away, so if my meals look light, then you know why!!

I'm also only 5 1.5 (that 1/2 an inch is very important!!!), so I don't need to eat as much as taller people!

So here goes......

Breakfast:
Apple and peach (I know its not much, but its weigh in day, so am eating on the go!)

Lunch:
Large salad and cold roasted veg. Babybel light cheese (part of Hex A - my other is 350ml of skimmed milk)

Tea:
Satay sauce (3 syns), Grilled chicken breast, large salad. I may have some SW wedges (yum!) as HexB

Evening munchies:
Dried prunes and apricots (HexB x2), Activia FF yog, ermmm........
Edited!: This has changed to...0% fat Greek yog with White Choc Options sachet mixed in (2.5 syns) and Fibre Plus bar

So - that equals 5.5 syns and two HexB's. Can't bring myself to eat anymore today!

This feels so weird - yesterday being on full SW mode and today having to find more to eat!!!!

Any feedback is always welcome!!! xxx

Plan for tomorrow:

Friday 11th June:

Breakfast:
2 Weetabix with milk from HexA allowance
1 apple

Lunch:
Omlette with bacon and 1xBabybel light (HexA). Salad.

Tea:
Steak, syn free Onion Chutney, Salad

Snacks:
2 x Alpen Lights (2nd HexB)

Then...going to the pub. We've got babysitters and its rare for us to get out on our own!
Plan to have a pint of lager (classy bird!) = 16syns

So....16 syns (4.5 'borrowed' from Thursday and 1 from Saturday) and two HexAs+Bs.

Going to try and have an extra HexB on Saturday - need courage!!!

Whoops!
Still in bed as I write this with hangover :-D
We had a lovely evening last night, but, I ended up having 3 pints and not 1 - we don't get out on our own very often and I think that the excitement went to our heads!!!

Having to re-think this week now as I consumed a massive 48 syns of beer.

Anyway, food for today stays pretty much the same, just going to drop the syns right back down until Thursday. We've nothing planned that could get in my way and we very rarely drink alcohol normally!!!

At the moment, really looking forward to my omlette!

Breakfast:
Peach, Activia FF yog (didn't feel like much this morning).
Lots and lots of water

Lunch:
Bacon and onion omlette with salad. 42g of Be Good to Yourself chedder (HexA)

Tea:
Joe's Pork and Chilli burgers, salad, SW wedges (HexB) (sorry, but I do love my salad - you'll see this theme repeated many times!)

Snacks:
Apple, Apricots, Fibre Plus (HexB)

..so...with skimmed milk, that is two HexAs and two HexBs. No syns and not really feeling like another HexB today.

Oh - had my 'treat' of a full body massage and facial yesterday. It was lovely until the end when I felt 'obliged' to buy some products. The two things that I chose, cost me the same as the massage and facial........
(won't be going back again - took the shine off my treat - my she did tell me that my skin was 'ageing' well :) )
xx

Well done on reaching your target! Last time round on SW, I plateaued and set an interim target. The hardest thing I found was trying not to up my syns intake too much and I stuck to having an extra HEA and HEB a day. Seemed to work for a while, but then I fell off the wagon completely! Four years later and I'm trying again!

Good luck!

G2BF&F, for the maintaince, you just add an extra HEB? Not many more cal's if you like, to maintain. But the HEB is fibre too. A little confused as to how little more you can actually have. Important thing is though, that you are maintaining and if this works then its Fab. Good luck with this. xx

Well done for starting again Spanx - you know you can do it and we'll all be there to support you!

In answer to your question EF - I have to have around 10 syns per day and 1 additional HexB to start with. When I WI next week, we can see what effect it has. You're right, it doesn't seem a lot, but it does feel quite difficult to do as Spanx says - finding a balance.

You get used to eating a certain amount and increasing that feels strange. To be honest, I am finding it hard to 'let go' - I feel so worried about going back to old habits.

I'm guessing that it is going to take a good few weeks before things settle and me and my body feel comfortable .

xx

Made the mistake of weighing myself this morning - 2lbs heavier - aarrggghhhh!!!!!
Must be the beer :-D

Yesterday - Sunday 14th June:

Breakfast:
2 weetabix (hexB) and milk from HexA allowance

Lunch:
Salad, cold roasted veg and left over BBQ chicken

Tea:
Salad, Joe's pork and chilli burger and BBQ chicken

Snacks:
0% fat Greek yog, White Choc Options sachet (2.5 syns), 3xsesame seed ryvita (HexB)

Plan for today:

Breakfast:
0% fat greek yog, Apple

Lunch:
Covent Garden fresh tomato and basil soup

Tea:
(sorry!) Salad, chicken and roasted veg

Snacks:
Apples and apricots

That's it!
Feeling uncomfortable with this! Next week will be better though - won't have 3 pints of lager to make up for! xx

I'm sure you'll be fine,,I'm good thanks Shellie. About to make some pasta and sauce, and did have it down as a free lunch, lol.. but found out it's 1 syn now, thats ok, will count it and tried for 5 syns today to grab back the syns I used on Sat for chineese, so it'll be 0.5 syn over, which is fine.. Just have 4.5 tomorrow. I do Love pasta and sauce :) x

EF - it's fun juggling with syns!!! I always found that my body didn't particularly like flexi-synning, so didn't do it that often - we're all so different!!!

Better day today!
Already done 30 mins on exercise bike with free weight, just about to walk the children to school, then aquafit and walking dog - all before 11am!!!! Sore tummy muscles today, determined to try and reduce my lovely little pot belly! Hubbie and I are on a mission at the moment (he does not need to lose weight - plays badminton up to county level, but developping a little pot belly too!!).

Plan for today, Tuesday 15th June
Breakfast:
Banana and 0% fat greek yog.

Lunch:
Covent Garden Plum tomato and basil soup (HexB) and satsuma

Tea:
Going to try making some cajun/spicy pork burger things with some extra lean mince, SW sweet potato wedges and salad.
Edit: Whoops! Forgot that sweet potato is not free on a red day, could go green, but really want pork spicy/cajun creation!!

Snacks:
Apricots and apples. Skimmed milk as HexA choice.

I will maintain this week ('cos I want to enjoy some syns next week)!!! xx

Thanks EF! All is good with me - you?? Lovely to have some comments here, makes me feel as though I'm not totally alone!!!!

Wednesday 16th June:

Final day before WI tomorrow morning! Really keeping everything crossed for a maintain!

Plan is to have another week of maintaining and then try to drop around 5lbs - this is to give me some room as we're away for two weeks, to celebrate my 40th and then another weeks holiday just as a family. Going to Cornwall, massive memories for me, but pasties have always been my biggest downfall!!! Luckily we are self-catering (a week in a beautiful house looking over and about 5 mins walk from the beach and another in our caravan).

30mins already done on exercise bike with free weights. Aquafit again this morning (harder class - good timing!), walking children to school and walking the dog.

Breakfast:
Lovely plump scottish raspberries with 0% fat greek yog.

Lunch:
Cold roasted veg with laughing cow extra light (tastes divine and my favourite food!).

Edited! All change, actually was salad with lovely cold prawns and syn free bbq sauce to dip them in - yum!

Tea:
Hmmmm....think quorn burgers (the syn free ones with red onion) and large field mushrooms.
(pork burgers last night were lovely!!)
Edited: All change again!!!! Had BBQ'd sirloin steak with 1/2 BBQ'd cajun pork burger (still some left in the fridge from yesterday). Lovely!

Snacks:
Apricots, apple
Edited: May feel like white choc options with some greek yog later....if so, 2.5syns.

Going to have another go at making a SW quiche tomorrow. All of my previous attempts have been absolute disasters, so any hints and tips much appreciated.

xx

oh! and tummy muscles still sore, but improving! Keeping up with my new sit-up routine as well as daily body brushing and use of firming cream and bio-oil. Definitely more aware of my lower ab muscles, but whether I can achieve a difference is a different matter entirely :-D

Morning Shellie.

Love the pampering idea's, our support group has been talking about this too. A must me thinks.

Lost lb this week on EE and not happy about that really, but if it wasn't for that take away, I probably would have lost more. So behind me its gone :) and I'm mixing Green and Red days this week to see if that makes any difference and also doing more walking too.

Yr SW quiche, I use l/fat cottage cheese, fresh chopped toms, roasted peppers and mushrooms, ham, a leak, fresh basil, and lots of seasoning and about 3 eggs with a dash of skimmed milk. Layer your veg's and dot about your ham, then mix all your eggs and cottage cheese and seasoning in a jug and our over. Cook for about 30 mins, or til golden. Allow to cool slightly before cutting it up (if you are like me, you'll be in it as soon as it comes out of the oven, lol). Hope that helps. x

Thanks for that EF - I'll give it a go tomorrow and let you know how I get on!! I will have to have it straight from the oven!!!
A 1lb loss with a take away is fantastic, but I do appreciate the 'wanting more'!! Great idea to mix up the plans and walking is a fantastic fat burner - how is your arm doing??
My interview for SW consultant thing is tomorrow - I was thinking that if I got accepted and started my own group, then I would contact a local beauty parlour (or whatever!) and see if they would do discounts for members when they won a shiny - good idea??
Right, off to walk my dog - she's a little cocker spaniel and a year old, so still full of energy!! xx

Morning Shellie!
Just wanted to say, good luck with the interview tomorrow, and good luck with your first target weigh in.
I still get nervous every week I weigh in, I have never done the extra B choice thing, I just follow the plans with "extras". I'm not saying it's the way to go, it's just what works for me. Sometimes I have no extras and I lose and sometimes I have lots and gain! I'm being very very good at the moment though ready for my hols, I want to get under target (like you) to give myself some room to enjoy myself a lot on holiday!

Anyway, hope you have enjoyed your first week at target!

Thats a fab idea Shellie re the beauticians. Good luck with your interview tomorrow, I'm sure the job is yours :). I helped out yesterday at my group as con was on here own, only took the money, but kind of enjoyed that :).

I'm doing a Red day tomorrow, so I'm gonna make that quiche too, can almost taste it now mmmmm x

Morning Jay,
I've sort of enjoyed it.....lots of 'shall I', 'Shan't I' going on in my head!! I think I will enjoy next week a lot more :D.

I think that I'm not going to bother with the extra B choice - to be honest, I don't really like many of the items on the list!! I'm quite fussy. What I will do, though, is to enjoy my syns and have some treats in mind for next week.

Anyway, yes, nervous about tomorrow, but I think I always will be. Fingers crossed!!

Shellie xx

Thanks EF - will keep you posted!! Have had to find one of my old suits from the loft - it has not been worn for almost 7 years (lovely classic black trouser suit - size 10- from Next - can't tell that it is so old) - fits well, a little lose around the waist, but I'm not complaining!
(I still can't quite believe that I'm this small!)
I have not worn anything smart since I left work at the end of November. Its my feet that are going to get the biggest shock as I am a confirmed flipflop wearer!!
So looking forward to that quiche - it is going to be such a treat!!! xx
