GUTTED

Just weighed in first week, did 5 days EE 100%, counted every syn, used the fruit and veg and put ON half a pound. Bawling cos I really felt great up til two days ago, scales said 2 pounds off, then stomach got upset with all this fruit and veg, I'm bloated and even feel a bit constipated - TMI, sorry, but just trying to get my head around it.
Anyone else had this, or does EE just not suit everyone? Should I give it one more week, to see if my system settles down?
Gutted, just feel like I'm gonna be fat forever. Sorry for the rant, but don't know where I'm gonna get the motivation from.

hello there

did you write down your food diary, every single bit on it? sometimes it is very little things with a big knock on effect.
dont give up yet, as long as you dont feel ill doing it i would maybe sit down with the consultant and go through the food diary bit by bit.
i am sure you can do this, chin up

try not to get too downhearted :( why dont you post what you ate for a couple of the days so someone can cast an eye over it just to make sure youre not going wrong anywhere? there might be something you havent spotted, id definitely try again another week, it could just be bloating or * week or some other silly explanation, dont give up! xx

I found in week 2 my stomach was upset, probably from the "drastic" diet change! Perhaps you're just a bit bunged up and retaining water because of the tummy. Keep at it, at least until your stomach settles down and see how you're doing :)

Every flippin thing- weighed healthy extras, included fruit and veg, used only very low fat yoghurts, drank water, counted syns, just don't understand it.
Only thing I can think of is that I wasn't having meals before this week, just grazing, so the meals could be heavy on my stomach. And the fruit and veg is really upsetting me. Other than that, I just don't know.

I've a food diary for the last three days in the food diary section. Pass no remarks, I'm just disappointed. Life goes on, eh?!:wave_cry:

Don't worry - it's probably just the bloating. Your system is having to work for its living for the first time in ages but will get used to it. Drinking lots of water helps and some people swear by a daily activia yoghurt. Forget about the scales - I'm sure the numbers will go down again once your body adjusts to the new regime.

head up and keep going. We all have bad weeks -it may be toxins leaving your body. I have felt yucky in my first week and constipated but it will right itself. Keep going and you will lose-some people lose inches first so keep trying xx

I totally sympathise. I did EE 100% last week and STS. I was so fed up. However, this week, I had a sneaky peek on the scales midweek and it looks as though (cross fingers) I'm on track for a good loss this week. I have added in a couple of Green/Red days to the EE for a bit of variety this week.

Oh thank God it's not just me!! Shoulda known something was up when I looked at my rice salad at lunch and felt like throwing up! The toxins would be spot on, I've about two years of living on coffee and cakes to clear, goodie. Just gotta be gentle.
Thanks for the support people, it's not exactly what you want to talk about at Image Therapy, but it's great to get feedback all the same. If it weren't for you all, I'd prob have chucked the whole thing.
How many of you do EE 100% and lose weight? Is it best to mix it up with the others?
Fingers crossed things settle down a bit this week

Hi Allie,
I joined last Wed, had end of school bbq on Fri, so didn't start til Sat morning, so been five days since then.

firstly, dont call yourself fat! you arent, you're slimming ;) remember this! have a look through the before/after pictures thread and read some target member's weight loss diaries - you will be one of them one day :) we're all here to support you and give you motivation, especially when you need it most :)

ive had a quick look at your food diary, and im not expert at HexA and HexBs but i was wondering are you sure that a latte is allowed as a HexA? ive never heard of that before but that doesn't mean its not true. your body will get used to the fruit and veg after a week or so, so dont worry about that too much xx

Never thought of that - was counting the semi skimmed milk as the HEA and the coffee was free. I'll give anything a go!!
Thanks for the help!

5 days won't give you a accurate measurement to be honest! Go another week 100% and you will see the results :)

With your 'latte' if you are making it yourself and it's just 250ml semiskimmed/350ml skimmed milk and coffee then it will be fine xxx

i knew you would know Allie :) fountain of all SW knowledge! xxx

That's fine you can do that but if there is more than 250ml milk in the coffee you would obviously need to count the extra as syns.

I've done the majority of my days as EE but I find that I do have to limit the amount of pasta / spuds / rice with what I eat. In my first week I didn't loose either but I was eating ALOT of pasta in particular. I've had to tweek a bit but I do limit the amount of pasta I eat (75g max) and only have it maybe twice a week now. It's helped a lot with my weight loss so it could be that there will be something that stops you having big losses and you'll have to hunt it down and treat it with care. But like the others have said you could just be bloated while your body gets used to eating properly!
Good luck!!

Ah thanks, I'll keep an eye on that. Was looking up past posts and the activia thing seems to be the major answer, along with just getting used to the fruit and veg.
So it's a tweek here and there on the way! Calmed down now, just got a big shock, might go back to small meals a little more often.

Aah don't be downhearted, as someone said you've not done a full week so give EE another week. Did your leader check your food diary cos I thought I'd been spot on but I buggered my bread up and over syned every day. Keep at it.... Onwards & downwards x

I joined SW last Wednesday and went tonight only to discover I had only lost 1/2 pound and like you I was devastated. My tummy has felt bloated and I've had a bit of wind and spates of going loads then not going at all

Like you said it's embarrasing to mention that at group so it was such a relief to read this thread and how you and others have felt and now I don't feel so bad.

So thank you because you've helped me! :)

One thing my consultant did say was to make sure I mix things up and avoid eating the same meals all the time.
