Hi,
This is a place for anyone who would rather change their lifestyle and eat healthily rather than diet.
Just for any newbies, please introduce yourself, tell us a little about you, and start a diary or post a comment on any of the threads in the forum.
We can get a great little community going here, so dont be shy.
:D:D:D

Hi,

This sounds like a very good idea for a forum.
I think diets just make most of us fat unfortunately :(
I like your quote!

Hi there

I am Nat, I am 28 and I have been on a diet for the last 10 years - currently weighing the same as what i did back then!!! LOL!!!

im still trying to get myself out of the diet mindset, its tough having followed 'rules' of what you can / cant or should / shouldnt have.

good luck all x

Hi there and welcome to the forum. Maybe you might like to start a diary, or just share your tips, recipes etc.

Its very tough Nat, but we have all been there. There is no magic formula, its about eating good food, in moderation and upping the exercise. As I said already, please feel free to share tips, recipes or just feelings.

Hi there, just changed from WW to food combining. Its not strictly a diet as such its more a healthy way of eating so I hope this is the forum for me.

Look forward to chatting!

Hi FM,
Ive never done food combining, but think some people do have great results. Would love to know what you are eating, so if you would post your menu it would be great!

hi all, i'm a 35 yo male and losing weight now eventually after a 2 year hiatus. usually fit and maybe little overweight but after losing my dog 2 years ago the weight started piling on. maybe its taken me this long to get over the loss but also have had alot of other things going on like going back to college etc. i'm now about 267lbs and ideally should be 200 or so. started back walking, swimming and cycling lately and love the feeling of working myself and hopin i can lose the weight again so i can start back hillwalking - that really keeps the weight off!!

i eat everything and i'm refusing to cut out anything from my diet mainly because we only live once and we have to enjoy it to the utmost. and am a firm believer in everything in moderation. can't understand why people would put themselves through the pain of these special low calorie diets but respect their decision to do so and acknowledge that my way might not suit everybody:)

never realised there was a healthy eating forum here so i'm delighted!! sorry for long introduction;)

hi everyone.i've only recently joined, and am already feeling so glad i have.i don't feel so alone anymore!my main downfall is late night binging, and not being active enough(though some of that is due to having put on so much weight over the last couple of years)i really need to stop!!!i hoped i'd never reach the 2o's again(my biggest ever was 23stone)but a couple of months ago i weighed myself and found i was 21stone,it was a shock, and i got rid of 1 stone almost immediately, but as usual i started almost starving myself until, one weekend i found i'd eaten more pizza, crisps and chocolate than i had in the whole month before!!i dont want that same old cycle again.this time i want it to last,so i need to change my attitude to it all.and hope that having a place where i can be honest(with you guy's and with myself) will help.so glad i found this forum.:D

Hi everyone, just popping in to say hello.
I'm usually on the Xenical forum, but I was just having a look around and stumbled on this healthy eating section.
Although I'm using Xenical as a 'helping hand', the basis of my diet is low fat/low cal. Apart from losing weight, my long-term goal is to have a healthier approach to food and life in general - so I guess that's why I was curious to have a look around here.
I've lost this weight before, so I know I can do it when I put my mind to it, I just think I've always been focussed on the number on the scales and my appearance, rather than striving for a healthier life in general (if that makes sense!).
I know that if I'm going to lose this weight once and for all, I'm going to have to get myself out of the 'diet' mentality, and make these changes for life. I know real life will get in the way, and that I need to manage these situations rather than having times when I am either 'on' or 'off' the diet. I guess that boils down to choosing to eat healthily becauuse it's the best thing for me, and my health, rather than just being something I do to fit in smaller clothes or to see a certain number on the scales.

So that's my little ramble over with! I'll look forward to popping back soon, and getting to know you all better...

Hey Breadbin,
Welcome. I agree with you, nothing should be banned. As soon as you put a "naughty" name onto a food, it will become so much more tantalising. Look forward to reading your updates.

Hi Alex,
Ive seen you on the xen forum. It didnt suit me, gave me terrible bloating and cramps, but am eating healthy following ww points now, and doing great.

You are right what you say, there is no end to this journey, as the weight loss is just the beginning, maintaining and living healthily is the key.

Hello everyone! I've posted in the general introduction thread too but technically not on a diet, just trying to change my lifestyle as in the last few months gained 1 1/2 stone (blame comfortable relationship :p ) Only thing is at 21 and type 1 diabetic eating the junk food I love isn't doing me any good and I'm starting to just feel... sluggish, so yeah! Hey :)
