Hey everyone,
I'm 18 and doing my a-levels currently, been meaning to lose weight for a while but was spurred on to do it today when I realised i've gained a stone in three months :( I'm 5ft 7 inches and weigh in at 169 pounds so really need to shift some fat! Having failed many times before I hoped getting some support online might help. Any tips would be great, I don't know where to start!

Hi and welcome. Keep a food dairy for a couple of weeks then see how you can cut back and also increase your exercise. Also suggest you start a diary thread in one of the sections for support

Good luck

Hello there and welcome!

Like has already been suggested keep a food diary and see where you need to cut back slightly. Perhaps take up some more exercise.

Dont mean to sound picky, but unless you are asian, your target weight puts you at a BMI which is too low. I know most BMI calculators have a BMI of 18 as the lowest but in reality thats for asians (I have never quite understand why there body mass is different though). For a white caucasian a BMI of 20 is the healthy limit.

Also please please please do not do what I did and stress about weight during A-levels - I know it may not feel like it, but you are only just overweight and you probably carry it really well - concentrate on your A-levels! Although a healthy eating and exercise routine will help your memory!

Goodluck! :)

Thanks to both of you for your advice, i'll take it easy during my exams but i'm stilll going to do my best to eat healthily :)

I know that my goal weight is quite low, i'm aiming to be a size 8/10 but I don't know what weight that would be so I just took a guess, i'll stop earlier than 44 pounds if I achieve what I want :)
