flexible syns???

ive seen a couple of ppl mention these what are they ? and would they become useful for me as im going to a wedding sayturday :D
 
Flexible syns are a device given to us to allow us to cope when we truly will not have either much control over the day or for a special occassion. As allie said - the idea is that you work out before how many syns that you are likely to need that day and try to stick with that number - be it 20/30/50/whatever.

There is no promise of a weight loss that week, but what it should do, providing you've been in control of the syns on the flexisyns day is give you the ability to get straight back on plan properly the next day.

The key is though that you are meant to keep some sort of control over the food by sticking to the syn value you have picked. Flexisyn are also meant to be used sparingly when there is little other choice. In 18 months - i've flexisynn'ed probably about 3 or 4 occassions (including an entire weekend).

First time was for brother's wedding last year (BBQ day before, wedding day, hotel breakfast and bbq day after) - i planned where i could, took control where i could, and flexisyned the rest. Went ot my next weigh-in and lost 2.5lb. Last time was when i went down to London for the an award ceremony (and a take-away treat that evening), back on plan the next day but gained half a pound at weigh-in (i don't usually drink and i normally avoid deserts these days).
 
the other week I started week really bad for 2days i was bad... then girls on here told me about flex syns and i literally went rest of week eating free and superfree foods ol and went on to lose 3.5lb... but i wouldnt recomend messing up and beginning of week as rst of week is hell with no syns! ... if you was thinking about using flexi yns i'd plan ahead and use 5 syns a day and save 10...
 
This week instead of counting my syns daily im gonna just have 70 for the week and cross them off as i use them cos i find some days i dont use so many and some days i WANT more!!!!

Sorry but that's not flexi synning. You are saving syns and using them over a week instead of daily. Flexi synning is something completely different and explained in the OP. With flexi synning there is no cutting back on syns for the rest to the week to make up for going over one a particular day.

thats why I don't recomend it ;)
 
So I had a bad day today (eating real sausages and a burger off the bbq as well as a snickers ice-cream) so I've had over 20ish syns (cos I had alkihole too!) today so if I adopt the flexi-syns approach if I get back on it tomorrow then I won't have ruined everything?
