:(:(I have no idea how I managed to put 2lb on this week.

I know it's 2 days early but how can I be eating so little and put on.

I really feel like crying

I am so gutted as I'm having a week off the diet this week and feel really bad having a week of with a gain :(

have you been 'offically'weighed, or is it your own weigh in?
it's just that I seemed to go up 3lb over the weekend, even though I, like you hadn't had anything, but this morning I was back on track ... and my weigh in is Saturday

so peraphs it's just the early-ness?

hope you ok

maybe you'll catch it up next week?

27lb (from your ticker) in 8 weeks with an AI holiday thrown in the middle is pretty good going, 2 stone in 2 month - it would take a lot longer on other diets so maybe use that as the silver lining

feel better soon xx

Thanks for the support, I know I shouldn't be too down but when you are so strict on yourself (ie food) its really disheartening to gain.

I won't be loosing it next week though as this week is a bit of a food and drink fest.

I have booked a WI for Friday to see the damage?!?

the great thing about CD is that anything you gain this week will be quick to lose. I had a week where i gained 3lb despite being 100% for 7 weeks! sometimes the body does odd things, you may find it's just water retention and will drop off. As for this week enjoy it but don't stress over the scales. I went away to Amsterdam for 5 days and ate a stupid amount of junk food and drank beer but as soon as i got back i got straight back to my soups and shakes and when i went ffor my weigh in i had actually lost 3lbs! Enjoy it, don't stress over it and get straight back to it when the week is over and it shouldn't be too bad. And remember we all have blips or planned time off but the important thing is the big picture! Good luck hun, remember you always have us lot! x

Went a little mad today with food, because annoyed with WI and knew I was coming off CD for a bit. I know I haven't re educated my brain to food and drink but where I can I'm going to squeeze CD in.

I'm going to enjoy being normal for 10 days then knuckle back down to it and loose another 2 stone as soon as possible.

Thanks everyone I love this site and your all so helpful and kind x x

i do know how you feel lyndzi... i dont blame you for being mad. I have always been such a slow loser it has driven me mad and when I was 6lbs off goal, tried 1000cal plan, put on 2lbs went back on SS+ for 2 weeks was a total saint and so so hungry (had a certain date i wanted to be for my 30th birthday and this was 2 days before) and when I went to weigh in it hadnt moved even off!! I was in ketosis i showed my CDC my tongue to prove it. I came home and literally wept and had to have a bit of a short break from CD because i was so upset. But i have regained perspective a little now and am just thinking its just my bodys way and eventually it all evens out. I know the idea of CD is that its quick (which it is compared to other diets) but it is not a race. I have lost 3 stone in nrly 8 months but a good friend (who was a lot slimmer than me in first place BMI only 28 on starting) has lost 2stone in 3 months and had every single weekend off plan! But that is her body and this is mine and getting too down about it makes me eat which defeats the point. On the plus side i think CD is fantastic and it really has been the best diet I have ever tried, despite the slow weeks. So have a quick sulk and when you're ready get back on it you will continue to do great i know! good luck!! xxx

I gained 2lb yesterday aswell - Just in time for my first official WI

I have no idea why as I have been 100% with my diet and I am also in ketosis :(

Hi Hun, please don't be too downbeat as with his diet there could be numerous reasons why you have gained. The weather while glorious at the moment I know wreaks havoc on the body - water retention etc.

Have your week off and most of all enjoy it, then come back with your CD head on raring to go.

Hope you're feeling much better today.

Sharon xx

Morning Folks :)

You know, you really have to put your faith in this diet rather than the scales. That's kinda hard sometimes because we want to go down, and many of us have lost so much faith in diets that we gauge the success of the diet by what the scales say. Scales play silly, and we assume the diet isn't working

But! There is no way this diet can't work. On the lower plans (1000 - SS) you will definitely be losing fat. I'd stick my neck out and say you will lose on 1200, and probably even 1500 (though other factors come in here).

So what's going on?

Well, when we lose fat, for some reason the fat cells drop the fat and sometimes fill with water. We're not quite sure why this happens, but it does for some people. After a while, the water will release again and the scales play nicely.

I had a client who gained in the first week. From not dieting to SS:eek: I'm sure she was 100%. She was gutted. I was gutted for her:cry: But she stuck with it. Not sure where she got the strength after that weigh in on her first week, but she did.

Her losses were relatively slow after that, losing her first stone in 5 weeks, but she said this was a lot faster than previous diets she had done and she was finding it relatively easy to do, so all was well.

Her 2nd stone picked up, and surprisingly for both of us, she lost a stone in 3 weeks (week 6,7 and 8). It's a mystery. Never seen that happen before after a slow 1st month. The wonders of the body.

So, Lindzi. The 2lbs gain, though hard to get your head around, didn't mean you weren't losing fat. Just that you gained a bit of water. The fat went. The glycogen was reducing. You were either in ketosis, or very close, so the hunger and cravings were due to go/reduce big time.

All was well. But yes, it's demotivating isn't it. But it was working. Just the scales being silly.

Never let the scales bully you around. Trust the plan.

KD you are wonderful ...... I hope anyone who reads this gets a little inspiration to carry on.

Lyndzi - please dont take the gain to heart ... if you werent weighing in this week you would never had known and wouldnt be feeling bad. Please keep going, have your down day and move on ...everyone here is looking out for you and willing you on.

Thanks KD. That put`s things into perspective for me too as I also gained 2lbs this week.

I am pleased with my 5lbs loss tho, As like you said, No other diet would give me these results in this time frame :D

Have a great weekend x

i gained 2lbs this week too on the 810 plan...... boo. i was good but not great IYKWIM. anyway, am not feeling bad and am off the diet now until sunday morn cos of antibiotics (i need to eat food as they make me feel sick with shakes) so dont worry. have your week off and enjoy and come back for the last 2 stone.

as for me, well like KD says, this diet is weird. i'm ok with the gain and at least i gained it eating properly rather than on crap!

Thanks for you support everyone x
KD thanks for explaining, I think I must be on a sticky point at the moment as inches not coming off either!!
I love the diet and do trust it so I will keep on with it.

Thanks again x x x

Lyndzi you'll be fine hun, stick with it, I went through the exact same thing a few weeks back. It took a little while, but the inch loss showed up eventually then the scales moved again. It will happen for you too, it's so easy to get disheartened though xxx

KD you're always the voice of reason, I don't know where I'd be without you. x
