i started this diet on the working solution a while ago now and after my weight losss practically stopped i changed to the total solution the first week was great with a loss of 6lb but last week it was only 1lb then again only 1.5lbs this week. Its quite disheartening -i know i shouldnt but i look at all your great weight losses! Ive also upped my exercise (on top of controlling the kids) to running 3-4miles 5x a week so was hoping this would help even more so!im still quite a way from target, i just dont understand why my body is refusing to loose this weight! Any suggestions would b greatly received!

Everybody is different and loses weight at a different rate hun, it's not a race and as long as you are still losing why stress about it?

The most likely reason from what you have said is that you are building muscle as well as burning fat because of the extra excercise. Muscle is more dense than fat and therefore weighs more for the same size. In the space that you needed to hold 1lb of fat you can fit much more than that in muscle!

Have you measured yourself, or checked your body fat percentage at all? Both of these can be good indicators that your body is still changing even if the numbers on the scales aren't shifting that quickly.

Try and see the big picture, I know I drone on about it all the time but the scales really aren't the be-all and end-all of dieting, weightloss or health.

You are losing at a rate that your body is happy with, go with that and as long as you keep losing even if it's just a little bit you are getting it right!

I felt the same way- I religiously drink my 2 litres a day- it does work !

try that for a week- 3litres a day-what've you to lose? (well weight :D )
unfortunately more trips to the loo, which I know is a nightmare with little uns
maybe make use of potty

;D
;D

thanks for your advice, you're both very inspirational dieters!

Yam babe - i've started measuring my fat % the scales tell me that, but eek - 35%! that cant be good!

And thanks for that other tip on the water Maggie- your right i'll give it a go - it cant do any harm!

i also had a two day break at the weekend, i've seen a couple of people on here do it to get your mind back in the right place, the food really wasnt that exciting and i missed my shake for breakfast!

back on the wagon, and hopefully with fat % updaes also now!

My scales measure body fat % as well.

If it's any consolation to you, when I started mine was 58.8%! It's now down to 38.7 which is great but still way too high, for my age etc it should be around 25% I reckon.

Well done for the weight loss so far! You are doing really well. Please do not worry about the weight loss slowing down. Its difficult to pinpoint a reason as its different for everyone. When I did the Cambridge Diet, I had 3weeks of losing just 1/2lbs (from a previous 4/5lbs) and it can really get you down, but then suddenly I had a week of losing 6lbs! It all catches up! Sometimes you have lost the weight, it just doesnt show on the scales!

1)Measuring yourself is a good tip - its possible you have lost inches and the scales soon catch up!
2) Make sure you are drinking plenty of water - if you are having 2litres - try having 3-4litres instead - works wonders! (please dont drink too much in too short a space of time though!)
3) With the exercise you are doing, it MAY be that your body needs slightly more calories - a bizarre theory of eating more, helps you lose weight. Maybe try going back to the working solution even just for a week and then back to total solution. I did 12weeks of the cambridge diet and towards the end my loses slowed..I had a week on holiday having a light meal a day as well as my shakes, managed to maintain which was great and then went back to sole source (CDs equivalent to total solution) - lost 5lbs!!
4) My body has a particular weight it likes to plateau at (shows how many times my scales have gone up and down). It could be yours is the same - stick at it and they will come off soon! :)

Hope this helps! :)

wow youve done so well yam! I have no idea what my % should be....off to do some google'ing! Thanks 'dreaming' got a new bout of confidence now so fingers crossed for this week!
