What do you eat for lunch at work?

I have gotten into the habit of having a tin of soup, with a slice of bread to tip in it and save my morning sack (fruit) and calcium (yog) for a dessert.

However, with all this hot weather the soup is going to be oncomfortably hot!

Has anyone got any nice ideas of lunch we could share and make them more interesting? :) I am not always a big salad eater unless its different and we have been eating it for dinner alot too.

Only on second week, but either a tin of soup or I buy a healthy lf sandwich from mearby Sainsbury! Sorry, not very inspiring but looking fwd to hearing other ideas!

I used tp buy a plain salad sandwich from the local bakery, but now I take a salad to work with me. Im not a big salad lover but i add some rc cheese, and some grapes with some Asda honey & mustard low fat dressing. I also take either a Hartleys low calorie jelly or a shape Zero yoghurt and I enjoy it every time :)

I usually take a salad to work and I either add ham, chicken or tuna to it. I love salads so I suppose it's easy for me.

In the past I have had tomato and basil soup with a slice of Nimble malted wholegrain bread, followed by a small tin of peaches.

I have also had small tin of WW beans on 2 toasted slices of Nimble bread.

If you aren't keen on salads just by themselves, try placing your salad in a pitta bread.

Hope this helps! Have a good week xx

Thanks for starting this thread! Loads of ideas here!

In fact today, instead of the shops, I made my own sandwich. 2 slices wholemeal bread 95 cals each, loads salad leaves and cucumber, and a drizzle of Hellmans fat free vinigrette. Very tasty!

I have had

bagel with philly light and smoked salmon
sweet potato and fish cakes/salad
chicken salad
egg/asparagus and beetroot with salad

mostly salads at the minute as it is so nice...tuna salad or cottage cheese salad.

You could also have sweet potato and baked beans.

a big fruit salad with low fat yogurt even!

I'm exactly the same, normally love soup for lunch and it's so easy!

I've been making couscous salads, I buy those bags of frozen mediterranean veg and put some of that in along with cherry tomatoes. To keep the couscous full of flavour I add harrisa paste (I finally found this after searching in a small jar near the stuff like olives/roasted peppers etc) to the stock I make it with, yum. I normally make a load and pack up 3-4 lunch boxes to keep in the fridge and it does seem to keep well.

For a nice lazy option, sorry it's a salad but it's yummy. I buy these £1 simple salads from tesco, you find them with the bags of salad leaves and they contain mostly lettuce with a few cherry toms, slices of cucumber and radish. I also buy a £1 tub of prawn in marie rose dressing, the light one has 210 calories and tastes really nice and creamy! Just like soup you can just buy this and deal with it at work.

For a different salad I like chopped up raw veg; carrot, red cabbage, broccoli and pepper along with cherry tomatoes. Some balsamic/olive oil dressing and sometimes put reduced fat feta in this too. It does take a bit of time because you do need to slice up the veggies quite thin.

I need more ideas though so this is great- I love the sushi idea! Thanks!
