Im a pound away from being out of the obese category and into just overweight on my wii fit. Its so close I can smell it. So I am a comfortable size 14 now, which was always my goal. Id have been more than happy with that 5 months ago when I was a size 22. But this makes me think now that my ultimate goal will be getting to a healthy BMI for the first time since I was about 17.
At a size 14 already though and needing to lose over 2 stone yet still my partner has said that I would look weird if I lost the extra. Im not going to stop, Im happy with the way I eat now and if weight loss carrys on Im all for it. Im sure its just because he has grown used to seeing me fat and he is supportive dont get me wrong.
Have your goal posts moved at all since starting your weight loss journey?
(My nan says we have heavy bones in our family and can have small frames like that of her mother who was small but still be heavy. ha a ha ha ha)

Size 22 to 14 in 5 months- WOW! Thats fantastic.

It sound like youre really happy and in control of your weight now and if you want to keep going down rather than maintaining- go for it!

I dont really know what I want my goal weight to be - but always figured i'm most comfortable as a curvy size 14- which will still mean i'm overweight- when I get there (eventually) I reserve the female right to change my mind if I want!

You are inspirational. Well done. X

Hi molly

Wow congrats on your success already.

Reguarding heavy bones im convince that is what i have lol. Years ago i got down to 11 stone and ppl actually thought i was 9 stone so i blame that on me having heavy bones as they say in southpark lol, and i agree that if i was at goal i would look ill, once im comtable with my new weight loss and look slim then i will talk to my leader and request that my goal wont be achieve and hopefully they accept that what i want will be set as goal.

Good luck and like i said keep on it till you happy with self :)

See thats the thing I said the same thing...that a size 14 would be great and would still mean id be overweight. Now Im here though Im wondering if I didnt think size 10-12 and a healthy BMI originally because it seemed so unacheiveable before. It doesnt now for the first time.

Many people lose weight and decide to go lower,I feel you have done an amazing thing in losing so quickly which I suppose is a help to wanting to keep going.
Maybe just carry on and eventually you'll probably find a weight you feel best at.

I'm 16 stone and wear a 14-16 so I must admit I do wonder what I would look like at 10 stone 7 which is a BMI of 22. BMI isn't always the healthiest way of working out an ideal weight, fat % is a much better way. A lot of sports people are considered underweight by there BMI but they are extremely healthy.
There is lots of different type of body structures for example there was a plus size model on ANTM one season she was about a UK size 14 and she didn't have an inch of fat on her, her stomach was flat and she looked very in proportion.

They say your wrist is the best way to work out your bone size because you don't hold all that much fat there.

I have been having the same dilemma as you. If I go to a weight within my healthy BMI I will be probably a size 8.

Maybe most peoples ideal size? but not me. I am happy to get down to a size 12. I have been slimmer than that and I personally thought I looked a bit guant.

So I go down to a size 12 but still be classed as 'overweight'.

I believe I also have 'heavy bones' as I can be a size 12 at 10 and a half stone and I am only 5ft 1! Apparently I carry my weight well!!!!

I want to be size 12 too. Unfortunately I don't hold my weight as well as you it seems! Even at 9st 12 I had to hold my stomach in if I wanted to fit into a 12! I know I could probably lose more weight than that if I really tried since the women on both sides of my family are size 8 or 6. I know I have a petite frame too cuz when I was slimmer and was laying on my back and lifted my bum off the floor I could see it once all the flab fell back!

Im 13 stone 1lb at fat class(ww) and about 12stone 11 on my wii fit first thing in the morning. just about to go into the 12's.
10 stone 10lbs is the very cusp of the healthy weigh bracket for my height which is 5'5'' I think it starts at about 8 and a half stone. I think I would look terrible if I weighed less than 9 stone.

I carry weight all over so not just in one area which is why I think it can be deceptive. I see some women with thin legs and big bellies, not me it spreads.

I too am a size 12 at 10 stone 7 I was 11 st 4 in 2006 and was a size 14,I think the health officals are having a rethink about BMI as its quiet low maybe go with the weight you feel suits you?x

That was a major landmark for me, dropping down into the next box on the Wii Fit! The Wii makes a difference noise when it shows your BMI in the 'overweight' box, I wonder what it does when you're 'normal' lol :D

Yes, my goalposts changed a couple of times, when I started I wanted to get down to 16 stone (from 23) as I thought that would be achievable. Then when I got towards 16 I moved my goal down to 15 stone as I thought that would be a reasonable weight for me to be at. But I moved it again down to where it is now, *just* into the 'normal' BMI range for me

aww that's a truly inspirational post l have to loose a similar amount of weight so lm delighted to see what you have achieved so far very well done :D

Hi your fella sound a tad threatened by you losing more weight,I see why as we read daily how women leave partner's when they lose weight so men see this and think OMG....I think just say you want to see how you feel a little lower to him.

I think thats a bit harsh, I didnt think he sounded threatened not just by saying he didnt think she needed to lose any more. Very often men, particularly our partners. see us very different to the way we see ourselves. Could it just be he really just loves her and thinks she looks great now and honestly doesnt thihk she needs to lose more? Some men perfer women with some curves etc, maybe he just feels that shes done so well and he loves her new figure the way it is. I dont think theres necessarily an ulterior motive to it.

Mollysmum Id forget worrying about the BMI aspect and go for something you feel happy with. BMI isnt the be all and end all, too many people are hung up with getting to a supposed healthy weight, based on a formula that doesnt factor in anthing other than your height and weight. My doctor has actually said hed be concerned if my weight was at what the 'BMI experts' state is healthy as Ive a naturally big build and it would, in his opinion be too low.

Ah its OK Im not worried about my fella. I know he fancies me more now as he is like a leech at times. We have been together for 10 years now and have 2 kiddies. I was a size 10 when we met (I was 17) and he stayed with me when I started to BALLOON in my early 20's. He never once made a harsh comment. He is happier now Ive lost alot of weight as he told me but he didnt put any pressure.
I think maybe he worries though that Ill never be happy or satisfied with my weight or looks. Maybe he is worried that I wont know when to stop or be able to? Becausde its such a big change and in his eyes Im fine now and a size smaller than the national average. I could just ask him I suppose. lol.

How is that harsh its been said time and time again on here and all over the magazines and newspapers,I havent stated he ACTUALLY feels this as I wouldnt know?
I will remove my post.

Theres no need to remove it, and no point either cos its in my post. Sorry but you said it sounded like HER partner was threatened, not that men can sometimes feel threatened. But that Mollysmums partner sounded it and I just felt that was unfair on him and felt IN MY OPINON that he didnt sound threatened at all.

Was just my opinion, and if you felt her partner did sound threatened thats your opinion too, and thats what discussion forums are about, our opinions.

Yes opinions, which you are right it was my opinion, which you disagree with, fair enough but you dont have to state Im harsh? As thats a statement not an opinion.
I have no more to say only to apoligise to Mollysmum

Hey no need to remove posts or appologise. I welcome all viewpoints. Honestly its a public, free, open internet forum. nuff said.
Life would be boring if we always agreed with each other all the time.
