Day 3 and struggling

Hi all,

I'm 5 ft 4" and just under 13 stone - I want to loose 3 stone

I'm coming up to the end of day 3 (just had my chicken soup) but I'm really struggling to stay motivated.

I'm following TFR 100% (so far!) but I can't stop thinking about food and I feel v lethargic & teary:cry:Sometimes I feel really determined to keep going but most of the time when I'm ravenous I'm questioning whether this is right for me. Also, it hasn't helped that it's coincided with my 14 month old son being pretty poorly so I've been up alot during the nights!:sigh:

Just wanted to say hi really and see if anyone else is experiencing the same thing? Any words of advice/ encouragement would be great too!!

I also have a couple of questions I was hoping you can answer...

Does it do any harm to chew sugar free gum?

One of my friends drank diet coke whilst doing this, she said it really helped her energy levels & as it's 0 calories it couldn't hurt the weight loss. Is this right?

Thanksx

Hello!
Don't give up! I would say the first week is the worst, day 3 especially so you are not alone on that! I am 5'2 and started off weighing 13 stone 4, 5 weeks later I am 2 stone lighter & feel so much better for it!
You can do it, just try to take your mind off food if possible by distracting yourself, go for a walk, read a book, anything. I promise if you can get through the first week you won't look back.
You can't chew gum as far as I know or drink soft drinks, messes with the process your body goes through to burn your old fat. I am sure once you have your first weigh in you will feel more confident with the whole process. Just make sure you drink the water, at least 2 litres a day, I usually have 3 or 4 and put it in 500ml bottles and it seems to go down a lot easier that way rather than glass after glass.

Take care and don't give up, you can do it!

Hya hun,

Dont get disheartened. When you feel like this you need to distract yourself if you can.. your fave DVD, pampering facial, a bubble bath. Keep drinking the water. Sometimes a nice black coffee with sweetnener is lovely, especially if you're feeling cold.

You cant have sugar free chewing gum unfortunately and diet coke is also against LT guidelines, Im sorry. I know some people do (and if you have to, drink Coke Zero rather than diet) and it doesnt affect them, but you cant risk being knocked out of ketosis.

Im a similar height and a little bit heavier that you. Ive been on it for 4 weeks now and believe you me, you will be on here in 4 weeks comforting a newbie going through the struggles you are going through now.

Another thing that may help is reading all the success stories on here, there are some really inspiring people on here.

You can do it hun, it does get easier I promise ok? Dont give up because the hardest part is over - deciding to do the diet in the first place! That takes guts.

Me again!
Forgot to say, I did the first 4 weeks without a hand blender and now I have one it makes the shakes go down a lot easier! No lumps and chuck in a few icecubes and it's a lot nicer. I've only got shakes so not sure what the soups are like. You are retraining yourself so it's not going to be easy, we all have our off days but it's so worth it in the long run. Your little boy will have a mum who feels better about herself, has bags more energy and will be fitter and healthier! Got to be worth it!

Keep with it hun, it will get better. Hope your little one's feeling better too. <HUG>

It certainly isnt the easiest diet in the world. And I think at the start we all had the same feelings as your having right now. Keep going with it, when you have your 1st weigh in you will get a much needed boost ;) As Bops said a new healthier fitter you, thats what you have to look forward to. :) xx

I had the very same feelin on day 4, but I kept thinking just one more day, that's all I have to do - and it worked, otherwise i probably would've given in. I'm into my second week now and trust me it's so much easier than the first week. Believe me pet, if I can get through it absolutely anyone can. Just have a little belief in yourself cos we all know you can push on through the rough time:)

Just really to repeat what everyone else has said - keep going- yes it is hard work but it really will be worth it. Treat yourself to something that isn't food - I had a gorgeous pamper session yesterday and it really helped to distract me. Also find your own way of doing the soup and shakes - I've found sweeteners & ice are the way for me. I'm actually looking forward to them now!

Keep your water intake up. This will make you feel fuller and stave off headaches and lethargy. And sorry it's a no on chewing gum and diet pop. Listerine Strips are ok but hard to come by.

Good luck and keep going xx

Good luck, stick with it and stay strong. You can do this diet and will. Look forward to reading about your future weigh ins!

HI,

Im only on day 2 of this, but what helps me feel better are "Ice Drops" which are minty, one drop on your tongue and you have great breath and also seems to make ya feel alittle fuller :) They are sold at my pharmacist especially for the Lipotrim diet, thus are allowed :) you can get them online also though... Also never have more that one drop at a time otherwise they blow your head off, lol. And they last forever, have been chain dropping them, lol, and the amount doesnt seem to have gone down.
