Green Days newbie

Hi All.
I'm new on here and am doing slimming world at home alone. I've done 4 weeks now and have lost 8lb on green plan. I'm getting a bit bored with it now though as I feel restricted in what I can eat. I don't eat red meat or fish so red plan is out and I don't know what 'extra easy' is! my weight loss seems slow, but at least its going in the right direction. I'm aiming to lose a stone by the end of June although i'm not sure if this is achievable or even realistic? I hope this forum will be of some support for me on my long lonely journey :wave_cry:

Hi and welcome to the forum. To lose 8lb in four weeks when your BMI is already within normal range is a fantastic loss! You should be giving yourself a pat on the back instead of complaining that your losses are slow. You've lost just under four bags of sugar in the space of a month. I suggest that next time you are in the supermarket you try holding two bags in each hand and then you'll have a better sense of appreciation for what you have done.

That aside, the experts reckon that 5 weeks into a diet is when people start to lose their enthusiasm so what you're feeling is normal. The way to beat it is to refocus on why you want to lose weight. Imagine yourself at your target weight, wearing a fantastic outfit and then think about how that will feel. Every time you feel low picture yourself back in that scene and feeling great.

Now as for the boredom, you shouldn't be feeling restricted because nothing is banned on SW. Variety is really important so ask yourself if you have got into the habit of eating the same things all the time. Challenge yourself to trying a new food and recipe every week, and having different evening meals every night for the next month.

As for losing a stone by the end of June that's entirely possible - if you stick to the plan, and that take work. But what are the alternatives? You certainly won't be a stone lighter come the end of June if you stop!

Good luck!

Hi. Thank you for your post. I didn't mean to sound like I was complaining about my slow weight loss, was just making a comment - thats all. I will try some new recipies this week as yes I do tend to eat the same things each day/each week and I suppose that has a lot to do with the boredom. I'm down a trouser size already and am thrilled to bits with my progress to date. I've been at the other end of the scale with regards to weight and am keen not to go down that path again. I hope to gain some support and advice here.
Thank you

Well done on such a fab weight loss already and would agree that if you challenge yourself to a a couple of new receipes a week you'll injet something new into the plan and prob surprise yourself along the way.
Good luck
x
Thank you, Claire.
I'm going to search out some recipies to try this week and will see how it goes.
thanks again

Well done on your losses so far. EE won't help as it's a way of combining meat, fish and the starchy foods you have on green.
I would suggest trying lots of the quorn products and also get the green recipe book as that's got loads of yummy foods for you to try in it. xx
