Hi Guys

I have been a member on here for ages having undertaken nearly every diet about. Lighterlife, Cambridge, Slimming World etc. I lost 2 stone in 7 weeks on LL and kept it off for about 18 months but then it gradually crept back on and recently i have gained back all the weight i lost save for 2lbs.

So last night I joined WW online.

I did WW years ago and did ok. I found it hard to keep within my points but at least I was not gaining weight. I need to make a real effort to make this work now. I am nearly 42 (where does the time go?!) and there is a family history of heart disease. I do not want to fall foul of that.

Any helps, tips and just general encouragement (as well as a good kick up the a*se) would be very welcome.

Thanks guys xx

Hello I did Cambridge 3 times and lighterlife once in the end I was 3 stone heavier than when I started over a 5 year period yoyoin. So your not alone Thera lots of us out here I think all vlcds are good when you do it once and do maintance as it takes an awful amount of strenght to abstain from food for months doesnt it,I think everyone needs to do slot of headwork if they have yoyoed to see why and how they can stop then find their 'plan' for life not ' diet' simply diets don't work as that word makes us feel deprived and restricted so we mentally learn in yoyoing that after this ' diet' we can eat what we want after we lose what we can. I emotional eat, comfort , so I'm trying to learn not to, this I've realised and learnt after 22 years us why they say slow us best, it's not meaning we will keep the weight off just because it's taking longer to lose, it means we reeducate ourselves to eat for hunger not for other reasons.
I have in the last 2-3 weeks struggled emotionally and not having food to use have nearly fell again and I haven't as before I started ww I had a consultation booked with a gastric band consultant and so this is my last ww , plan ,
here us a fantastic community full if people who know what you feel think and want as we all feel the same, I think all we can do is do our best support each other and think I deserve this as YOU do

I look forward to seeing you become a loser ;) and good luck xx

Welcome and good luck with ww.

I havent done a vlcd myself but have struggled to lose weight for many years. Size10 is right this is a life style change not a diet, learning how to be slim as we get there. And get there we will. This site is great for providing support and advice.

Look forward to hearing how you get on.

Hello and Welcome to WW!! :D

You will get loads of encouragement here :D

Hi and welcome to the forum, like yourself I have done every diet under the sun, I have yo you dieted for years, and got heavier instead of skinnier. I started the ww diet in August 2009 and I am still on it. I take the diet one day at a time and don't think of the amount that I have to lose, I track what I eat everyday and I drink plenty of water, and make the zero pointed soup for when you get hungry. This is a great place for hints and recipes. good luck on your weight loss journey.

I am on Day 3 and so far so good.

I have tried a couple of recipes.
The strawberry oatcake from this months mag as a snack (yummy at 1.5 pts) :gimi:and I have the Cafe Style Banana Bread in the oven as we speak.

For dinner I am cooking the Quesquedillas, again from this month's mag.

I have not cheated yet, in fact not wanted to. I am eating a far more varied diet than before.

Let's just see how long I can keep this up.:D
