Dont look at the big picture

Do take it bits at a time

Remember how well your doing

Set goals

But I still have days where I think God its going to take me forever.......

Well done on your weight loss, you are doing great!

I know myself from past experience that the first two stones off seems to make little difference to clothes size...but a few more pounds off after this and you will begin noticing your clothes getting too big and you will start to see the difference yourself and everyone else.

From then on it takes around a stone in weight loss to drop a size but as you near your goal weight it can take even less.

I find before and during photos are helpful in seeing the difference the weight loss is making as when you are used to looking at yourself in the mirror each day you tend not to notice.

Thanks Mini yes your 100% right also dont you think it takes along time for your head to catch up with your body....
I think I'll do as you say and take a picture when Ive lost the 2 stones, thanks again I hope you are well :) xx

I also have a problem with the head, I don't see any difference when I look in a mirror, despite going from size 24 to 10. But when I see a photo, I do a double take - is that really me???? I def think photos are good.

Well I started at 20 stone, and I can honestly say that I didn't once think about getting to goal, I literally just focussed on each half stone. I have always been big. I remember getting weighed when I was at school and was 14 stone. When I got married at 22 I was 16 stone. When I got pregnant with my first, I was 17 stone. When I got preg with my 2nd I was 15 stone. I joined ww right after he was born, and was 20 stone :-O

Anyway, I honestly wasn't aiming to get down to 10.5 stone, and I don't really know how it happened!!!! I just focussed on the plan 100% for a year, focussed on getting the next silver seven.

I honestly never believed I would get down a size 14, never mind a 10!!

I just simply saw ww as a plan for life, with no finishing point - and thats still the way I see it 18 months later :)

You CAN and WILL do this hon xxx

Hi purplestar you are also 100% right,I do see this as a plan for life its just I hate the way I look and I suppose its impatience to look better? Sad I know lack of confidence I suppose.
Well Bladdy done amazing loss you are an inspiration, how long did it take you?
I think I need to work on myself more and see goals as 7lbs and then not worry about the rest.
Thanks again and super well done on maintance :) xxx

awww hun, you have done great!! i can honestly say that i have now only just seen a slight difference in me after 26lbs off :-( but i remember from last time the same, the weight loss slows down for me after 2 stone but the way i feel speeds up if you get me?

you have any before and now pics for us to judge?

well done on your loss this week :)

How much does your losses slow by?You have had great losses your 3lbs more lost than me in a week less.
I remember I lost 4 stone on ww a few years back and I lost 3 stone in 5 months and it took another 4 months to lose the last stone
Thanks for your support xx

 Thankyou thats kind,I just wish I could go back 18 years when I lost 3 stone on ww and I was 22 and knew what I know now and kept the weight away :(
How are you today all okay????
Thankyou hun xxx

well im not at 2st yet ( hoping and praying i lose 2lbs this week to get there!!) but last time after 2st ish i only lost 1lb a week until i had lost 3st4lbs and then i didnt lose anything else for 3weeks!! it was so demoralising to see the scales move so slowly but at least they were in the right direction lol

xxxx

Thats funny how your body didnt want to lose more isnt it? I suppose you didnt have alot to lose at that point,my mum lost 4 stone on ww and lost 1lbs a week on 98% of all weighins.
Fingers crossed for your 2lbs hun and you never know it may stay as it has been :D xx

I can only agree with what has already been said. You are such a supportive person to others if you could give yourself the same amount of support you would be flying high.

I think its interesting re the head catching up with the body. When I lost 5 stone I really couldnt see it myself. Everyone was telling me how great I looked but all I could see was the 'huge' amount I had left to lose. This time I have got oh to take start photos - front, back, side and face. He is going to take the second lot today.

We all know how this weight loss malarky should go but it is only human to have days where we are not so positive. Keep plodding on you are doing great and will get there in the end.

I am sure you do look different, sometimes other people dont like to say anything. Keep your chin up

I sometimes wish I had taken measurements/photos etc before I started as those things help to spur us on when we see proper differences.

It's so hard when you're focusing on an end goal. I've got 1 stone left now but to me that feels so much further away than it ever did! I think people are right head/body etc don't always keep up with each other!

Try to be proud of your achievements already - every week you take a step towards goal and it's so hard sometimes to keep motivated but you already know how important that is. By the time I reach goal it will have taken me 18mths - some people have lost the same amount in 3-4 months. But it's getting there that's important in the end - every tiny step towards it means the journey is getting shorter.

You've done brilliantly so far and you'll keep going strong. I know how daunting it can seem. My goal is to lose 102lbs, ideally I know that might not happen due to my body shape and muscle, doesn't mean I don't want it.

I've already lost 54lbs and I've got another 48 to go so I'm half way there but I know that sometimes you can just not see yourself reaching that goal weight and it sucks.

The important thing is to keep strong, you've lost 1st 9. That's a hell of a lot and your health will be benefiting from it even if you can't see it.

Keep pushing and imagine what it would be like to put 1st 9lbs worth of weight into a backpack and then to carry it around with you. You'd soon notice the difference.
