Hi all,

Just need to rant and get it off my chest so sorry in advance!!

I have had a good week, although I did go out for a meal on Sunday night but I had saved points in the week to cover it. Just got back from my meeting this morning and I have put on 1/2lb, I am so gutted! I am going away in 5 weeks time and so wanted to be below 11st but that is looking doubtful now. The weight loss seems to have slowed right down and I am not sure what to do, I am currently on 18 points a day.
I have eaten more Weight Watcher meals this week and whether that has had anything to do with it?

I had the contracetive injection 7 weeks ago and I do feel a bit bloated today and am still spotting (sorry for the detail).

The pressure we put on ourselves is silly I know and probably next week I will have caught up, but for now I feel really down and feeling sorry for myself!!! :(:(:(:(

Hiya (((hugs)))

I think there could many reasons why you gained.
I had my mirena coil out yesterday and I am now parinoid I will gain next week.
Did you read the info about the injection,I read through the leaflet yesterday and I saw alot said weight gain so it could be that? Is it your TOTM? Water retention?
WW processed ready meals someone said they can make us retain too? Eating chicken can help with water retention and drinking extra is its this.

18 points, are you eating enough whats your age, weight, height etc for the working out of points as they sound low?
Exercise are you having AP?

xx

Hi size102b, many thanks for answering my post.

It would be around about my time of the month but since having the injection I havent had a proper period just continual spotting.

I will lay off the WW meals this week, just been busy this week and I thought they may help as they are so easy to point, however I will get cooking more now again.

I have done the points test and it does say 18 points, I am 5'2", age 43, 11st 6.5lbs and dont usually do alot of exercise although I have started a partime job a couple of weeks ago and I have not increased my points, not sure how to do this on the test as I only work 3 days aweek not every day?

I think I will have a good read of all my WW books and refresh myself a little.

I was drinking alot of water but since its so cold at the min I just dont fancy cold water and salads so I suppose thats not helping is it?

aww that must be really disappointing especially when you have had a good week, it may show next week for you,:) keep going anyway ((HUGS))

Hi do you know last totm did you gain? We can gain and average 2-3lbs so next week it should go,my daughter is 14 shes doing ww with me and she for 3 weeks lost just 1/2 each week, she is young active and stuck 100% i know she lost but I couldnt figure out why so low then last week she lost 4 1/2 lbs ,she started drinking more decaff green tea and no suar squash.
I think its your totm I havent had anything for 4 1/2 years on totm just bloated and very moody so its more than 99% possible you have retained so that why you gaine you may of lost 1-2lbs but gained 1/2 due to retention.
Keep at what your doing, dont use work as AP as there a way they work out why we can have AP,I do 1 hour every day of cardio and dont use AP as I lose slow in general through yoyoing.Im 40 5ft 2 and 15st 9 and I can only have 22 points so you sound liek your having the right pointage.
Try cooking some low point meals I do now and I always put peppers red onions and carrots and loads of mushrooms in to bulk them out.
Try drinking decaff green tea with a little skimmed milk I have 3-4 cups everyday to get my fluids up,I think its that TOTM and Fluid retention so forget the gain its not real and just do as you are and you'll see a loss xx

it is so frustrating, i put on 1/2 lb this week but I know it is TOM so I will not beat myself up, several months ago I would have got home from my WI and shoved food in my month as a further punishment but now days I seem to be more forgiving.
Good luck for next week's WI - big hugs

It is so frustrating. I hate to scare you, but I put on 2 stone with the depo, over 3 years. When I discussed it with the nurse I explained I only put on weight when expected, holidays, birthdays, weekends away etc, but rather than lose it afterward, no matter what I did it just wouldn't come off. She told me that it is a common side effect of the depo that losing weight becomes a whole lot harder, and sometimes impossible. I ahve to say too, that 15 months later, my body is still not back to normal and regular, and the weight loss is an absolute mare! I know this isn't always the case, and that others have lost wwight with it as normal. Including some on here, so may be scare mongering for no reason, but that is my experience. Chin up, keep at it, and maybe speak to your consultant. It does become ahrder as you get closer to target, and any small blip in eating and can ahve catastrophic results at the scales. Did you count the points of your meal out, and have enough saved. I bet you'll do fine next week.

I did have the depo many years ago and cant remember gaining much if any weight at all then, just have to see how I go over the next month or two.

The meal out should have been covered by the points that I had saved but it was only a guess as there was no way of knowing how many points to be sure.

I just need to brush myself down and put it behind me. I am feeling better now although when I first got back I felt cut throat!!!

I have not pigged out which I do tend to do when I feel down so hopefully will have a better weigh in next week - watch this space!!!

Many thanks to you all for all your support!!

Hi Hun, dont feel down after I had the injection i was bloated for months! Eventully I had to come off :( xx

Ure body can change, i tried the pill years ago and it was horrid but now it works a dream ha ha ha strange!!!! x

Keep on ploding Jessie. Dont know anything about how different contraceptives affect weight gain so cant comment on that.

But if you have accurately pointed everything this is not a real weight gain -as in fat gained-, keep to plan and hopefully will come off next week.

Keep smiling
