Propranolol

Wondered if anyone knew anything about taking propranolol (beta blocker) for SVT. SVT is where the heart can suddenly and rapidly beat around 300times per minute. I am on propranolol to control it. So far it has been 5mths since I was last hospitalised with it and the drugs seem to be controlling everything. I want to go back on CD but can I?

I think youd have to ask your doctor. Im on those as well and my doctor wont let me come off them without seeing him and eventually doing it slowly. I wouldnt like to take the chance.

Thanks for that Starlight. I def wouldn't want to come off them as I would be risking everything kicking off again, my consultant said I am on them for life or I need to have a catheter ablation (heart op) done.

Really want to get back on the CD, my doc has refered me for wls but says that basically my area has no funding for it and he is really just adding my name to the list to see what happens. I also want to give it a really good go this time and see if I can shift this weight without going down the surgery route.

I don't know if I am done having kids either and there's no way I want to get pregnant at this size, the last pregnancy was terrible and alot of that I believe was down to my weight.

You can do any of the Cambridge plans whilst on propranolol, but the doctor has to monitor you throughout. Obviously you'll need a drs siggy before you start :)

Thanks KD! That's brilliant! Really excited now, going ot call doc to get an appointment now!
