Alternative to Pesto?

Hiya, i've just started SW and my husband(although he doesn't really need to lose weight) has decided to start too.
He loves eating pasta in salads and i usually mix it with pesto but a small amount is 4 syns and he'd rather not use them on that.
Are there any healthy alternatives?
Thanks

I think the key here is thinking about making a similar dressing yourself with lots of basil (free) and garlic (free). Then the other ingredients would normally be parmesan and oil. You could use an A choice of parmesan (which is loads if you grate it finely), and you could axchange the oil for either nothing (if using all that cheese!) or switching it for quark or another neutral / cheesy type thang ..

does that give you some ideas?

I use the Asda reduced fat pesto - it was on offer the other day 2 for £1!! It tastes yummy, you cant tell the difference between it and the full fat version.

I use red pesto which is also 2.5 syns for a level tbsp. Pesto is so low in syns why try and reinvent the wheel.

yeah red pesto has alot less syns than green, i wasnt sure why so checked the calories-wow what a difference!!!

i have the saucy book, there is a pesto sauce in there with basil, garlic etc but it is soooo strong i had to cook it!!!! no way i can eat raw garlic lol xx
