if I don't eat all my points...

hey all!! I've been on ww for 2 wks and lost 9lbs :D
I just wondered though, I've been really struggling to eat all my 24 points. I know I can "save" them, but as someone with a history of eating disorders, I find this really really hard. Is it ok if I don't eat all my points? I mean, most days I'm coming in a around 20 / 21. Thats not terrible is it? :sign0009:

your allowed to save up to 4 points a day, but ideal WW states that you should then use those saved points by the end of the week, however seeing as you've lost 9lbs already in two weeks which is amazing, i'd carry on the way which your doing atm, it might mean as you carry on and go down to 23/22/21 points etc you will need to start eating all your points, but for now whatever your doing stick to it as it obviously works for you! :) good luck x

Thanks Smirky :)

Just wondered though, if I saved 4 points a day and then ate them all at the end of the week, I'd gain, right? I mean, that has to be an extra 2000 calories. So I suppose it's best to either spread them out or not eat them at all?

It's not 'extra 2000 calories'..you have 24 a week that's 24x7= 168 total weekly points. Say you save 4 Mon-Fri - that's 20 saved points. So Mon-Fri you ate 100 points. Sat and Sun you ate 68 points (2 full days plus your saved points) So your weekly total remains the same no matter what and won't affect your weight loss.

Hope that helps somewhat :)

Thanks Smirky :)

no you won't gain you've been eating less than allowed to save them up. Most people on here save points for a weekend or weigh in treat and it works fine :) Do try and eat the correct amount though

I must point out that your 24 points would have been caluculated by WW so that you can lose weight by eating all those points everyday, i know some people feel that the points worked out for each individual makes the Daily allowance that is shoved on all food packets which is 2000 for gals and i think 2500 for the blokes??? however! your points which are worked out (someone correct me if i'm wrong but i've always thought it was this) that they are worked out to be below 2000 already to ensure that by eating all your points you lose weight, i know some people feel that the points worked out for them are the points needed to maintain and be at the average 2000 allowance and because they feel this way they then obviously want to eat less than this to lose weight so cut out points, however it doesn't work like that as the points worked out for you already include enough for you to lose the average weight loss of 1-2lbs a week ... sorry if this doesn't make sense lol

I think it makes sense :) I just need to remember that healthy weight loss is a weekly and NOT a daily thing. I was trying to say that if one one day I ate double my usual points (because I saved them) then on that day I would eat more than is considered a "healthy" amount" of calories. If one was weighing themselves on a daily basis (ahem) It may make a difference the next day. Which is why my DR wants me to get rid of my scales lol.

Thanks, thats been very helpful!

you don't need to get rid of them, if you want to weigh yourself every day or multiple times a day like me lmao, you just have to learn not to take to heart what you see on the scales until your official weigh in! :) if you can do that then it's alright but if you can't then hide the scales until official day only :D x

perhaps a compromise? Get my BF to hide the batteries until weigh day?! :D

Great idea :). Just stick to a once a week wi - it's best for your sanity lol

very true! i drive myself insane lol, but i know i can't stop so i just let myself get on with it and stick to points
