Holiday!!!

Pauline and I arfe going on holiday in 6 weeks and we havent decided what to do with regards to the diet.

We've talked about having a week off but making a conscious decision to eat healthier.

Whats your thoughts? Does this work?

Hi there....

I am not posting muchthese days, but noticed you havent had a reply yet, so thought I would add my 2p.

Personally - I would never encourage anyone to take break on LL - planned or otherwise. No matter how strong you feel in your head now, abuot coming back and getting "right back on track"....when it comes down too it, nearly everyone struggles.

The diet is perfectly manageable on a holiday. As most know here, I managed a month long holiday in America with loads of family parties and celebrations, etc., and did not vere from the diet at all and came back 20 pounds lighter and that much closer to goal. I can assure you, that feeling felt far better than ANYTHING i might have tasted on the trip. ;)

The way I see it, there will be lots more holidays, but you never know - this may be your last chance to lose weight.....

So I would say, stick to your guns, finish what you started - and celebrate at a later date on a future holiday. It is just not worth toying with success, is it??

Good luck to you.

Hi,
I have to agree. I did a 2 week all inclusive in cuba and managed to stick to the plan and came back 10 lb lighter :D

I've had a break (did RTM etc) and decided i want to get another stone (ish) off, and it is so true what everyone says, going back into abstinance is so much harder the 2nd time around.

I really would consider staying on plan, as BL says, there will plenty of other holidays hopefully :)

good luck with whatever you decide to do :)

I think the problem isn't if you eat on holiday but how hard it is to get back on track if you do decide to eat. Psycholigically it's a very tough thing to do and to be honest, the easy option in the long run is to take the packs with you. Just imagine all the exciing things you can do instead of eating!
Whatever you decide, stick to it and I'm sure it'll be for the best xx

Thanks for all your replies. TBH Its more my OH with the eating on holiday than me.

It doesnt help that the hotel we are looking at going to is all inclusive!!

Right off for a walk with the dog and then out to play golf on a MASSIVE golf course. Shoudl lose a couple of lbs today!

Id like to tell you off my experience of a holiday.
I was 8wks into LL having lost 2 stone and my hubby booked a week all inclusive. My dilemma was the same as yours. I asked for advice on here and to be honest i got the same advice as you got.
The rebel in me decided to eat healthy and have a week free of LL. I ate fish meet salads ect. I didnt have bread potatoes and much of any carbs but ate well. I drank alcahol every day

The day after i got back i got back to the shakes. I didnt have bars for a week. I then weighed and had lost a pound!!

I was chuffed to beans! What a also done was alot of walking while away and some swiming
Personally and it is my own personal view.....if you feel you are strong enough i would eat but eat sensibly.
Good luck and let us know how you get on

Good post Justy, it's different for everyone. You must have great will power. Congratulations.
How's it going now?
