we're off to Newcastle this weekend (can't WAIT!) and wondered if anyone knew of any nice restaurants? would be nice to go somewhere a little bit special! but obviously, im on SW so somewhere that could cater for me?

we're staying at the Hilton, any idea what that's like? x

Hellooo :) I am!!

First off, enjoy your stay :D

Right so you're at the Hilton on Gateshead Quayside, it's nice. I've stayed there once. But it's right next to a bridge so maybe ask for a room that's the opposite to the bridge (though I never heard anything and it's a better view that way...)

...so if you cross the Swing Bridge & go onto Newcastle Quayside you have many many many choice. Depends what you fancy. There's Prima, Roscos, Unos and Rumpolis which are Italians and quite nice. There's Sabbatini's which is also an Italians I think. Cafe 21. There's the Slug & Lettuce (but I've never been a fan). The Pitcher & Piano. Umm...there's Gusto which is another Italians and La Tasca which is a tapas bar. There's LOADS more down that area and all pretty nice!

If you want to head further up into town then there's El Torero which is another tapas bar. There's the Living Room which does quite a selection of food and is supposed to be okay (Mum went the other week and enjoyed it). There's Zizzi's the Italians. Ooh and if you want a nice but quite expensive Indians go to Sachins. It's beautiful!

There's also the Gate which has the Spice Cube which is nice. There's many chinese buffets.

In the centre of town there's a Strada, a Wagamammas and a Nandos.

When I go out sticking to SW plan I normally stick to Italians/Nandos/Wagamammas.

Seriously, the list goes on. PM me if you want any more info.

I hope you have a lovely time :)

P.s. avoid the Bigg Market unless you want a PROPER geordie experience of many 12 year old chavs getting drunk & high haha xx
