Today, we baby-sat my b/f's nephew (his brother's kid), who is 18 months old. His mum was married before and has two older boys of about 5 and 4. We don't see them very often but stepped in today, because she had to work and had no sitter for the little 'un.
I swear that woman is the least interested mother I have ever met. She appears to regard her children as a burden and a distraction from important things. Ugh. Even when she is off work, they are in childcare/school ALL DAY, EVERY DAY.
When she picked her son up, I remarked on how he keeps doing the actions to "Incy Wincy Spider" with his hands and wanting to hear the rhyme (he can barely say two words).
"Oh THAT'S what he is doing!" she said, "I always wonder what he is doing with his hands... I thought he was counting his fingers!".
What?! She has three kids under 6 and doesn't know what "Incy Wincy Spider" looks like?! And she didn't try to ask him what he was doing? :sigh:
That poor kid.
