May- Post Natal Weight Loss Challenge

Purple Hugs

Loves weight.. training!
Well girls! May Day is nearly here, so figured we should start planning our post natal weight loss aims for this month!

Well done to everyone on their losses over the last 2 months!

Purple Hugs - 3lb

Hi girls had Weigh in this morning and lost 3.5lb but will count that for April. It's Grace's christening tomorrow and then I have my rescheduled girlie weekend in 2 weeks time and then I'm at a wedding on the 22nd so will be happy if I manage to lose 7lb in may! Very busy month but if I get straight back on track after my planned breaks I should be able to manage it.

Purple Hugs - 3lb
Lisa Marie - 7lb

Oooh may I join? I ended up putting on more weight this time than I did last time which seems really unfair in that last time I ate everything in sight whereas this time I didn't!! I did have pre-eclampsia though this time and i've still got huge patches of phlebitis as well as general oedema so that would account for some of the extra but not all of it, oh well!

When I came out of hospital I was back, to the pound, the weight I was when I started cd. So I've got my work cut out if I want to be at CDC weight by the time my mat leave starts!! I think, given the fluid, I'm going to aim for 14lbs in may - I've lost 7lbs in the last week alone and most of that has been yesterday and today so that's probably quite realistic!

I would also like to join in please.

I will count todays weigh in as April, so for may I would love to loose 5lbs, although I can really feel this baby wriggling now so I know it's getting bigger! But it's a goal...how realistic we shall soon find out!

9lbs for me on my first w.i!!

a lot of that (if not 90% of that) will be fluid, I've lost a lot of the oedema from the pre-eclampsia but still have some left - you can see the puffiness from my face has gone at least!

If only the remaining 64lbs were going to be as easy.. *That will take me back to the weight I was when we go married which is nearly 2 stone under what I was when I got pg..

xx.kirsty.xx - 12lbs

Sunflower 14lbs, 9lb lost, 5 to go!

Mummytummy - no, I'm not really on any specific diet as such - I'm not eating dairy because of my first daughter having severe eczema caused by any milk protein so this one isn't having dairy until after 12 months but apart from that just eating sensibly! I can't do any real exercise until I'm 6 weeks post section but I'll start walking the dog gently again soon! A lot of my loss this week was just fluid!

Very much so!!

Hi Sunflowers...congratulations on Lowenna -- Jocelyn is a lucky big sister!! Sorry to hear you had pre-clampsia...its really not a fun thing! Too bad, given your pregnancy history they couldnt , medicaly manage you with aspirin and low dose heparin...as you might recall, that how they managed Sujoud and I...wow -- cant believe our girls are nearly two!! Have you heard from Sonkie and Bea -- how are their babies?

Congrats again to the proud mommy and daddy!!

good luck girls, looking forward to joining you in the post natal challenges come september :)

sunflower our first girl's birthdays must be quite close together!

Hi girls! glad to report 1lb lost :D All going well and Catrin doing fine - weaning definately agrees with her. :D BF still going well so weight loss slow but steady now thank goodness. :)

I am just putting my toe back in the weight loss pool, put on far too much weight over the pregnancy and have put on a further stone since =(

Have taken the bull by the horns tho' and am doing modified diet chef. As I am still breastfeeding I will be adding my mummy and baby friendly multivit and more dairy. I am also going to see my gp in the week to get some more specific advice. My ankles hurt most mornings since breastfeeding, a quick phone call to the drs suggested that I increase my calcium.

I don't want to put down what I expect to lose, instead I will just post each week what I have lost.
I have a wedding to go to in mid June, I just hope I don't look as bad as my reflection is telling me I look now. I can't believe I am back up to a big weight and that my size 14 figure of this time last year is a sad memory

Never mind, can't focus on regrets and diet at the same time. Just need to focus on the slow path of weight loss. Right! onward and downwards =)

Hi! Great to see you and that you are looking forward. Don't look back at last year, we were both size 14's and I know it's depressing! ((Hugs)). Really hope the diet chef mod works for you. I am going to start taking my multi vits I think too - they made Catrin constipated so I stopped, but have noticed problems with my ankles and ribs too so maybe it's related. :)

Am sat up watching the election as Catrin woke at 4 and decided she wanted to natter! lol DH is up too. lol

hmmm, Katia has gone from pretty much sleep thro the night with a couple of brief dream feeds to waking every hour/hour half...think she must be going thro another growth spurt, she certainly seems to need to feed all the time again, it's like having a new born. I am very conscious that I need to eat well so am going out in a minute to get low fat yogurt lots of fruit and veg and calcium tablets.

The gp said breastfeeding is known to affect joints, both my ankles have hurt regularly most mornings, sometimes find it hard to walk down stairs, it wears off quickly but is only happened after the pregnancy. Anyway, am focussing on steady weight loss now, keeping an eye on missy's weight and nappy contents =)

oh and I am weaning Katia this week as well, she was salivating watching me eat and trying to throw herself off people's laps to get to food, she's only had some baby rice and a bit of heinz butternut rizotto, but she seems to like it =)

Aww Katia sounds lovely and ready for weaning. I'm 3 weeks in with Catrin - she still gets up in the night but it's settled to 2 or 3 times most nights now rather than every 90 minutes! She was having a real hungry time at 5pm too so its nice not to have screams now that she has solids. She has purreed veggies and baby porridge - she had rice originally. She loves baby porridge (aptamil doesn't need breast milk for it).

Well done on your eating ((hugs)) you sound like your head is in the right place now so I'm sure that'll keep you on track. Took me weeks to get to that point. lol

2lbs off for me this week!!

Angie - one step at a time lovely!! I put on 4.5 stone in the end despite trying not to but hey ho, it will come off again and likewise for you! Just set yourself a long time to do it while bf! Oh and yes, there is a growth spurt at 4 months, I found that one the hardest out of all of them - hope she's come through it now!

have lost 4 this week =) though I know most of that will be water
