Just made a major mistake. Cooked chilli recipe & after eating a bowl discovered that I had made it with lamb instead of beef & the lamb mince is 20% fat. Not a good start to the week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Write it off! If I ever make innocent mistakes like this I usually just ignore them, if it wasn't my fault I shouldn't have to worry!

D'oh!!! It shouldn't be too bad if you drained the excess fat off though. Maybe just have a couple less syns to make up if you feel that bad about it??

I personally don't use extra lean mince, because my husband is a butcher and they don't usually make it in his shop. But I always makes sure I drain off all the fat, and I don't count it. I know I probably should though!!!

I agree with Camille. I drain the excess fat off and dont count it as I can hardly ever get my hands on very low fat meats.
