Right people, I'm making a fab Japanese curry for my OH. However, the stupid blimmin recipe calls for apples and bananas. Only 2 of each, but they require simmering and blending then pressing through a seive.

Who here regularly cooks with fruit and can give me approximate syn values for a granny smith and an average sized banana?

In my old stuff from few yrs back it says an average cooking apple is 4.5 syns or 0.5 per 28g and the average banana pureed or cooked is 4

On syn calc 1 average apple is 2.5 and banana is 4 syns

at least we are agreed! a cooking apple is huge so an average granny smith should work out bout 2.5

Yeah but didn't think it would be that much considering cooking apples are not sweet. Just goes to show I need to check things cos my brain can't work it out!Lol!
