I am really annoyed I have been hunting through the threads to try and find the recipe for the syn free mayo using eggs but I just can't find it!! I wanted to use it to make potato salad for picnic themed taster on friday!... Can anyone please tell me??
Thanks x x

Hi

Google gave me this:

6 Table spoons low fat fromage frais

2 Table spoons wine vinegar

2 tea spoons artificial sweetner

1 tea spon mustard powder mixed with

1 teaspoon water stir into dressing

Salt & pepper

Keeps in fridge for 5 days

Yeh thanks, I found that one but I want the one with eggs x

Ilovelife - I do know it is only half a syn, but I would rather try and make it syn free as the amount of mayo I put in potato salad to make it nice a creamy

debjk - I like the sound of that, but because of the use of milk, that wouldn't be syn free; thanks anyway x x

found this one

No-Oil Mayonnaise

2 eggs

3/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon dry mustard

1/2 cup milk

1/2 teaspoon paprika

3 tablespoons lemon juice

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Mix well and heat over very low heat until thick. Remove from heat and chill.

i am gonna play with this recipie, and use fromage fraise instead of milk, should work too.
will let you know how i got on

so i followed the recipie now, and used fromage fraise instead, no problem, i added two extra yolks mind, and while i was gently heating it i crumbled in a little bit of an oxo cube, and added garlic granules.
i then let it cool down once it was thick enough, put it in the fridge, and added another spoon full of fromage fraige to it and stired it through.
it is lush, i am not sure if it would do a potato salad, that will be my next try later in the week, will go and demolish the "mayo" with some syn free chips now yum yum

Thank you I'm going to try this too - sounds good.

Ooohh thank you for this, I'm going to try it.
do u think this receipe with fromage frais instead of milk will be ok for me??? - im pregnant so cant have raw eggs but if the mayo is heated up in the pan would that make the egg ok?

Coleslaw

Try mine! no eggs, no mayo!

Pete’s Coleslaw

Ingredients

1 Small White Cabbage
1 Spanish onion
1 large Carrot
Up to 6 Laughing Cow Low Fat Wedges

Method

Shred all the vegetables to the same size and mix together in a serving bowl.

Start with 2 Laughing Cow Wedges, put into a microwave proof bowl with a Tablespoon of warm water, cook for 1 minute.

Remove from the microwave and mix to a smooth paste, add to the vegetables and taste, if you want a stronger cheese taste add up to 6 Wedges, each 2 mixed with 1 Tablespoon of water and microwaved.

Season with salt & Pepper and Enjoy!

To make the half syn extra light mayo go further mix it with fat free natural yoghurt the yoghurt is syn free n it still tastes like mayo!
