Supplements

Just wanted to know if any of you take any other supplements whilst on LT? I have stayed away from everything I would normally take but wanted to start taking my berocca, folic acid & B12 again. Anyone know if this is ok?
Thanks for any help you can offer. x

My pharmacist told me the only thing else we're allowed is paracetamol for headaches.....and NOTHING ELSE!! The diet itself is sufficient without the need for supplements and other remedies.

There have been other threads on here about supplements etc. Whilst lipotrim contains all our essential vitamins and minerals, some people still take some additional ones as they have been used to taking them.
Personally, I did not bother as I felt lipotrim covered it for me. I had blood tests after doing six months on LT and the doc was very pleased with them so I was not deficient in anything important.

Hiya loop

Funnily enough I found that I felt tons better just by taking the shakes themselves as they are packed full of all that is required.

Never felt that good when taking supplements. Ha!

I'm the supplement Queen! I take everything under the sun!

I have done so for years and will continue to do so. I was born with eczema and rheumatoid arthritis. I tried every medication going to try to keep them under control and manageable to no avail. It was suggested to me to try a concoction of vitamins, fish oils, minerals to see if it helped. I did, and it helped so much, both are now well under control.

When I started LT I explained all this to my pharmacist, they in turn explained it to LT. We decided I would continue taking what I was taking and see how it went. It all went perfectly, even if they had have hindered my progress I still would not have stopped, as they have helped me so much.

Speak to your pharmacist, or contact LT to get their thoughts. I can only give you my experience.

Thank you for replying Betsy. I didn't want to take anything that might affect my weightloss but I do have Fybromyalgia and although :fingerscrossed: I haven't been in as much pain since starting LT I do have some of my other symtoms and was hoping getting back on my supplements would help me with that. It doesn't seem to have made any difference to you, you've done amazingly!!

No sweetie it hasn't made any difference to me at all.

You are doing fantastically well! You must be delighted with your losses, amazing!

Please speak to your pharmacist, or contact LT. You do whatever you have to do to make yourself more comfortable. They may suggest you try them out and see if it makes a difference. I personally doubt it will, as I take so many and have been great.

Let me know how you get on please.

Hi,
I have something called pernicious anemia ( bit long winded but basically I am B12 deficient ) and I am also iron deficient. I was a bit worried when I started because I take Iron tablets, folic acid and B12 plus regular B12 injections. I have spoken to both my gp and pharmasicts and they have both said it is fine. In the past when I have been ill my gp has recommended i drink slim fast because it contains all your vits etc so I guess this is the same!
Don't worry about overdosing, the things that you take are natural and your body will just get rid of them in your urine if you take too much.
I'm not sure how this effects your weight lose - I hope its not too much!
Hope this helps! :)

Ive started taking supplements, not because of LT because the previous times I was on it I didnt take anything, my supplements are prenatal ones because Im on LT to get to a healthy weight to conceive my first baby this summer (hopefully!!!!). My hubby is on LT with me and he's also taking male prenatal supplements too. Its certainly not hindered him at all because he has lost 7lbs in 3 days!!!
