Just a query really - how come if Yeo Valley yogurts are fat free, they have a syns value? I assumed that all fat free yogurts were free on SW, but have I got the totally wrong?

Yes you have.
They may be fat free but they have a fair amount of sugar in them, hence the (small) syn value.

Always best to check. There's a list of syn free yoghurts. I'll find the link.

I thought yeo valley were low fat - not fat free.. would explain why they have syns! If they are fat free they technically should be free :S are you sure its fat free?

nevermind jaylou's answer is better lol :p

Nope, fat free can equal syns. I've been caught out before. It's the sugar!

Yoghurts are confusing! When I first started SW I ate my way through about 5 pots of Onken before realising the only syn free one was the fat free strawberry one... oops!

Thanks for that - it is really confusing! They are yum though, so using a few syns on them every now and then won't do any harm!

I had a look at Yeo Valley fat-free yogurts in the supermarket today. The third ingredient listed, after yogurt and fruit, is sugar. That's where the syns come from.
