cause water good for you and i know i should be drinking it i've started drink 2litres a day.
2 questions is 2litres enough and when does the constantly need to go to toliet stop. i've been 3 times tonight at work i only work 3 hrs

It is important to drink your water every day, at least 2 litres besides your normal drinks.

As for the trips to the loo - well I have worn a pathway in my carpet to my toilet because I still go loads of time all day, and I always think that another few fat cells gone again......

Seriously though, we are all different, so I suppose it all depends on the average person as how often we go to the loo, I suppose we just get used to it.

Well done for drinking all your water every day.

r work ok with u going so often? I get the impression my work aren't I work on a check out and somebody has to take me off so I can go.

Your health over their convinience. If you need the loo then you need the loo ad if they're unhappywith that they could end up with far harsher things than having to let you go have a wee.

I am in an office and there are only two of us & he is also doing SW so I have the advantage there...I get what you are saying though, if someone has to come & take over then they could make you feel awkward about it but if you need to go you need to go....

The scientific evidence that drinking lots of water is good for you is very shaky. There is a tendency to believe that if a certain amount of something is good for you, then lots more is better, which is rarely the case.

The theory is that you should take in 1 ml of fluid for every calorie consumed - for the average person this would be 2.5 litres of fluid. But this can come from the water content of food, as well as drinking water - and other drinks. A lot of fruit and vegetables have a high water content.

If you are happy drinking so much water, on top of other drinks, then fine. But if you are forcing it down, or it is interfering with your daily life, work or sleep patterns, then maybe you are drinking too much.

I have got into trouble for saying this here before, so feel free to ignore me if you like. But you might like to read the following:

thank you all I only work 3 hrs so 3 times is abit much.
thanks for acticals hun will have a read later. i'm drinking it instead of my coke and coffee

oooh interesting read! I'm bad for not drinking enough, not so much now I'm redundant and home full time, but when I was working t was hard for me to be off to the loo all the time, and when I know I'll be out walking the dog I dread needng the loo and being in pain til I get home. best way for me iis to drink little but often. if I try and drink loads at once, I have to wee more.

i drank loads of water on holiday - but aint had much at all since ive been home!!! :(

I understand you can have TOO much water.....as some of your daily water is taken into your body via food, not just the clear stuff!

I dont know all of the science behing it, but i would try to have no more than 2ltrs a day - unless you are exercising a lot, then i think you need more to replace what you sweat out!!

x

You can get ill through drinking too much water - but it is an awful lot more than 2 litres a day!!!!!!!!!!!

I've drunk 6 in a day, I had awful toothache, and cold water was the only thing that helped, but I ended up laying on the bathroomfloor praying to throw it up I felt that sick! I'd never drink more than 3 again

god yeah, it was bloody awful! wouldnt have done it if I wasnt in agony

I think saying 2 litres doesn't seem a lot but actually drinking it is another thing. I used to get a lot of dehydration head aches but since I started SW I've drunk no sugary drinks and increased my water. What ever you eat/drink there is speculation, I say if it makes you feel better then buger everyone else.

i was going to say something very similar to this!

I have to say, and it's just my own experience, that drinking lots of water definitely makes a difference to my skin and keeps me far more awake! Even pre-SW if I didn't drink much in work (I'm a nurse in a hospital) I would feel really sluggish, especially on night shifts, my skin would be awful and I got lots of headaches! If I drank lots (3-5 litres) I would feel really lively, my skin would be clear and I would hardly get any headaches at all! I speak in the past tense because I'm sure a lot of the improvements I see now are also down to the healthy eating and weight loss! I can drink gallons in work because the air conditioning, heating and being on my feet all the time is really dehydrating so I'm constantly thirsty!X

That's the whole point - you are drinking because you are thirsty and working in an environment which is dehydrating.

My problem is with people forcing down water that they don't want, in obedience to a bit of misunderstood and misrepresented science.

If you start drinking more water you will need the loo often, the bladder is a bit like a muscle, it will get stronger and it will be able to hold morefluid as time goes on then you will go to the loo less often.
I drink mostly in the day an stop around 8pm so im not up and down to the loo all night.
