Starting Again *sigh*

Well i lost about 1.5stone last year on SW and was so chuffed, but lost the plot then started my midwifery degree and needless to say the boxes of chocolates, long shifts and night shifts have swiftly seen that weight loss disappear!

I gave myself easter off but am now back on SW, i'm not going to class as i really cannot afford it and with such erractic shift patterns i'd probably make about 2 classes out of 6!

I was wondering if there are any other shift workers that have any tips for how to keep going without resorting to chocolate/sweets etc etc to keep you going through the 12.5hr shifts. Night shifts also mess me up - i end up surviving on cereal and toast for every meal!

Tips and suggestions welcomed :D

I don't work shifts exactly but do work varied hours, and some of my days mean I am at work for lunch and evening meal....the trick I use is to be prepared! Take as much food as you could possibly want so you have plenty to fill you up and an alternative to any tempting baddies that may be around! Fruit. veg sticks, grapes etc for munchies and filling stuff like savoury rice, mugshots etc....do you have somewhere you can heat foods up? I am lucky to most of the time and often take a portion of a curry or lasagne etc to warm up and have for one of the meals.
Options hot chocs are good for choc cravings, hope some of that helps x

Welcome to the forum, and good luck on this new SW journey.

Thanks :)

Day 2 and i'm still on the waggon, despite easter eggs calling to me lol.

I did try going to a class but i found that psychologically if i knew i wasn't going to make the class then i didn't need to worry about that extra syn or 50 that entered my body that week
Therefore it worked opposite and i lost 6lbs in my first week and had put it back on 6 weeks later

This time i am going to try 3 weeks on my own and see how i do, and i am back at Uni so normal days and no weird shift rotations.
If i slip i am back to class and will be asking for a big kick up the backside! lol.
