A Question....

Laugh in the face of food
Hi, I'm doing Cambridge at the moment and I'm looking at ways to maintain my weight loss once I get to my target. I had originally decided I was going to do Slimming World to try and maintain my loss, but a friend told me about JUDDD.

I've had a look on the website and it looks good to me, but I'd really like honest opinions of people who are doing the diet, would you recommend it for maintainance?
Any comments positive or negative are appreciated as finding the right plan for maintainance is very important to me.

Thank you xxx

Hi there. Yes you could use it. JUDDD is a fantastic diet and well done on your weight loss

I would recommend it because this how naturally thin people eat. My French friend does this automatically and her weight has been the same for years. (so has her mums and sisters). When I told her I was juddding and what it was, she was surprised that we were not taught this by our mothers:confused: Apparently all her family and friends eat less every other day, it's so ingrained into them, they don't even think of it as a diet. It's just a way of life for the chic Parisians.

That's my aim, to make it so ingrained that I don't even think about it.

And don't forget as you are maintaining your weight you eat more calories on your down day than we do as we are losing, have a look on the website to see your allowance.

And this is so flexible, so if you need to change your days around for an important day out, you can, and you won't have to follow any food rules (red day/green day etc).

I think the only down side is that you can be tempted to have too many up days in a row, but i suppose in that way it is the same as any other diet, it works as long as you follow the rules.

And well done on your amazing weight loss  and good luck maintaining which ever plan you end up picking.

Thank you both!! Finding this diet co-incides with me reading a book called How Not To Get Fat, and it ties in quite nicely with what it says. I think I'm going to give this a go when I eventually get to target. Looking forward to it.

Sanghi, what you said about it being how thin people live is true, it's how my friend and I got talking about it, she always seems to eat what she likes and never gains weight. BUT when I asked her about it she said she had a day where she ate what she wanted within reason and a day where she ate less and was more strict, and alternated the 2.

Thanks again both of you. xxx

It's also how our ancestors probably ate too. They would eat more when food was available and less when it was scarce. The reason there's so much obesity now is that we're genetically programmed to eat when food is available but it's always available in plenty these days.
