Hello,

I'm Kay, 22 year old graphic design graduate and wanting to lose some weight. I've been trying to lower my calories and saturated fats, trying to have smaller portions, and increase exercise but it seems my weight loss is a tad slow. I weigh 175lbs now, and am 5 ft 6.

I was pretty close to 13 stone nearer the beginning of the year, and have been exercising (using wii fit & EA Active Workouts, and occassional badminton). I've only lost 1/2 stone in about 2 1/2 months now. Just wondering if you guys have any tips?

Not following a specific diet, I find that my tastes restrict me a tad, I don't really like fish, or nuts.. and it seems like a lot of 'healthy' diets tend to include these ingredients.

However, I think I eat fairly healthily, I rarely eat out, and most meals are cooked at home, and I try and include lots of veggies. I'm downsizing my portions so I'm left feeling not full, but content. In a typical day I eat wheatabix for breakfast, chicken sandwich for lunch, with grapes, raisins, apple, pear & cereal bar or crisps (under 100 cals, like skips or wotsits). Lots of tea throughout the day (1 sugar or sweetner). I'd usually have a biscuit or similar snack when I get home, with tea. Dinner is usually like spaghetti bolognese, curry, toad in the hole, shepherd's pie, pasta bake, lasagne or a roast dinner. Dessert is a choccie mousse or something similar.

My boyfriend has advised me to look out for saturated fats rather than calories, however, I do try and watch for both when picking food. :)

Does this sound okay? Is there a diet out there that you could recommend?
