Hi, with easter nearly here i have read quite a few posts where flexi syns have been mentioned.

Would someone please mind letting me know how this works.

Thanks.

You basically set yourself a target for the day and stick to it. It means you can have more than you normally would for the day without feeling like youve cheated or have to cut syns before/after. ie even though your eating more syns you are still in control of how many syns your eating

Obviously not recommended for a lot of the time-more for special occassions

I personally like to use my syns on what I want and rather than flexi syning them, then I tend to not use my syns for the next few days to balance it up (well in my mind anyway!!) lol

Just to add what ninnins stated, you can set your goals to around 30- 40syns that day if that's what you think you will need. You keep adding up your syns until you get to this number and then stop. This means you have been in total control of your eating. there is no promise that you will lose as much weight the next week but the damage is less than if you had completely relapsed xx

I think it does help you stay in control ..... for someone like me who lets a bad day turn into a bed week or month because I felt guilty about 'cheating', I then comfort ate to get over the guilt, comfort ate to get over the feelings of letting myself down, comfort ate because I felt bad about comfort eating... and so the circle went round and round... flexi sins allows me to have a good night out or enjoy a party or wedding etc without feeling that I had 'cheated' as I just counted the syns and then felt like I had stayed in control and stayed on plan and then drawn a line under the 'event' and carried on as normal the next day... I have used this loads and still managed to have good losses....
flexi syns are there to use if and when the need arises

I had a flexi day friday that was our easter lunch and a large glass wine, i used it as flexi-day and straight back on plan sat, im in hope it wont do too much damage first flexi-day in 8wks, thursday weigh in, so my fingers and toes crossed, lol
