Hi guys!!! as you can see im brand new to this site. i was having a little browse though and everyone seems wonderful so thought i would sign up for advice and support :)

Well i'm going on holiday in july so the dreaded bikini diet has begun. im hoping to shed around 3 stone (optimistic?! lol) so i started the atkins diet yesterday and am coupling this with 4 gym visits a week (eeek!!!)

although i have the book, theres a few things im a little confused about. for example, how should i be cooking my meats etc?

yesterday i had a 2 slices of grilled bacon with 2 fried eggs for breakfast (fried in butter), prawn salad made with lettuce and cucumber with lemon mayo for lunch, and for my evening meal i had lamb chops drizzled with garlic butter with shredded cabbage. i snacked on a pepperami stick and a cup of decaf coffee with cream.

i felt satisfied all day and the food was yummy... surely this is too good to be true?! i felt i ate too much or cooked my foods wrong??

all help and advice greatly appreciated!!! :p xox

Hi newbie and welcome to the board and our little Atkins forum. What you ate looks good to me. :)

Hi and welcome. Yes your menu sounds fab to me :) yummy x
Yes olive oil and butter is fine :D

Ahh thank you :)

i have a weigh in at the gym tonight so will have a good idea of how much i'll be losing over the next few weeks.

just checked out the recipes too, they look fab, really excited to try some and im sure i'll be picking every1s brains a little more in the coming days :p xox

OK, it's mandatory in my house. LOL.

I've just started too Newbie (on Monday) and I still feel guilty everytime I get out the butter and oil (and cream and mayo etc!) It does seem to good be to true but it's working already!
