My friend told me that chips are free ufb you cook them in this but then said you do use a little oil. How can they be free if you use oil?She couldn't tell me but insisted it is right. Does anyone know?

No you still have to count the oil.
i have one and the chips are great, i am wondering if to it using frylite, then they would be free. :D

I've been looking at them on the web and they look great. Some others threads have said they use frylight-I suppose you would spray it onto the chips directly-the threads are a bit vague or I'm really stupid -latter probably -lol

Hi, I have just tried cooking them with frylite and yes they turned out great i sprayed them first before putting them in to cook.

the Actifry is well worth the money.:D:D

yes they are no won noticed put it that way, :p

The chips are great with Frylight - you can even sprinkle them with flavourings such as Knorr Aromat, garlic salt etc - wedges work just as well mmmmmm.

Just a note of warning. I had one of these for 2-3 weeks used in quite a few times only, very good, but one day it caught fire. Luckly I was still in the kitchen because normally I would put it on and go and do something else whilst it was cooking. Read on Watchdog that these are prone to catching fire. Took it back to Lakeland and got my money back, wouldn't trust one again.

Not as far as I know. Heard about it on Watchdog but still went ahead and bought one. We only have chips once a week so decided it wasn't worth the money or the risk.

My oh wants chips all the time and refuses to diet etc so its good for us,Iwill keep an eye on it. Thanks for the warning.

Thanks for the heads up on this mandy, when mine arives it "WILL" defo be going back as like you said its not worth the risk, especialy as im not always in the kitchen when things are cooking.

We used Frylight with ours but it started to clog up and eventually blew up. It didn't catch fire because there are no flammable parts in the Actifry, we just took it back to Argos and they replaced it without question. Apparently all the new ones have had the fault fixed so they don't blow up any more. We just use a drop of oil and count the syns, which really are negligible. We really couldn't live without ours now, it really is amazing and you can cook so many things in it.
