Can I drink TOO much water?

I am constantly glugging away, not struggling at all to drink water, and probably drinking around 5 litres, maybe more, per day. Can I dirnk too much? Is there a point where it might affect my weight loss?
 
Hmmmmm not too sure on this......I know you need to drink a fair bit......Think 5 litres is good.
 
I am not sure how much water you can have on your diet but too much water in general can actually kill you. Water poisoning is deadly and water intoxication can be deadly so whilst I am sure you can drink a lot, as with anything in life, there is always a limit.

Thanks everyone, and Nicole for posting that. I knew about the poisoning thing (work with kids and drugs - ecstasy), but did wonder whether too much could slow down weight loss. I'll stick to 5 litres I think, and have a word at the chemist when I get weighed today or tomorrow.

Forgot to let you know - I emailed lipotrim and asked if you could drink too much water on this diet and told them i was drinking around 5 litres and they said " yes you can drink too much water. 3 litres is enough".

So there you go. Now I have to cut down on water too!

Your chemist has inforamtion leaflets that they can give you and also a very good information video/cd to borrow.

Four pints of water plus the water you use to mix your milkshakes is the minimum water intake on a vlcd diet whether it is Lipotrim, Ligher Life or Cambridge Diet.

As normally we get a lot of water from the food we eat and when we are on a vlcd we have to deliberately drink water in order to have enough.

Drinking water should be fequent and thorughout the day and not all at once.

If it is a hot day and your sweating of course you will need more.

Everyone does find a level of water intake where they feel themselves comfortable at.

I find you build up to what suits you, it took me a week or so to get use to drinking so much water and to remember to drink it. So now I leave a bottle of water on the kitchen counter top to remind me.

Most find between 4 to 5 litres they are happy with some a little less and some a little more.

If you drink too little water you will get constipated.
