Food weeks - who's done them?

Hello all,

I am doing my food week this week and I am finding it a right pain. It makes more hungry after I have eaten and I hate having to think about what to prepare in the evenings.
Plus there is a little devil in my head saying not to bother doing as it feels like its taking me further away from where I want to be but i also feel that I need to 'kick-start' my weight loss so hopefully this will be reflected not this week but maybe next weeks weigh-in.
Its funny that i would've thought that I would really enjoy this week but its just turning into a hassle for me and I go to bed with a rumbling stomach which when doing no food, it didn't use to happen.

Anyhoo, how was everyone elses food week?

On a cheery note, I tried on my size 20 Dot P's jeans and they fitted!!!! I can't tell you how good that feels:):):):):):)

I really enjoyed mine, there's a thread about it somewhere, but I am a bit of a "foodie" anyway and I enjoyed the planning and preparation almost as much as the actual eating in the end. :)

What time of day are you eating? Because of other stuff going on I found I was usually not having my meal til about 8pm, and didn't experience any hunger at all. According to my stix I stayed in ketosis as well.

Maybe jot down a note of what you are having to make sure you don't stray too far from the "approved" list, and make sure you are weighing and measuring those portions properly as well!

Lastly keep up with the water intake.

I am definately making moves towards a food week
I have been taking down a shopping list that lists all sorts

Firm Tofu
courgettes
eggs
garlic & ginger paste
mooli !!!

going to make courgette & mooli "spaghetti" !!

baked me Tofu with paste on
beensprouts
and the simplest seems to be omlettes

off to the chinese food shop
;D

Thanks Yambabe for the response. I copied your receipe last night for the herb chicken and tonight i shall have salmon and veg and tomorrow, the tandorri chicken and then Thursday I am back to the shakes!
I do love cooking etc but am less interested when I have to curb everything, I would rather not have it - a method of 'thinking' i will change once I am down to the weight I want to be!
I love this diet because I don't have to think about food, i can take my shakes/soup/bar/medicine and get on with it - so this week has thrown me a bit.

Did it make you more hungry on the week that you ate? I'm finding myself a lot more hungry hence why I can't wait to get back into my normal routine!

No, but I did notice I was hungrier in the evenings of the week after.

I think possibly cos I had got back into the habit of actually having something solid and it was the mechanism of eating rather than the food itself that I missed if that makes sense?

I also kind of saw it as a bit of a challenge, in a "can I cope with this" kind of way......... ....and the answer seems to be "yes I can".

I'm very aware that although for now I am happy enough on TS, there will come a point when food has to come back into my life for good, so I'm kind of looking at the add-a-meal weeks as practice for that, starting off the good habits and losing the bad ones. I'm also timing my next few add-a-meals around social events that I have coming up, as it will make my life a lot easier!

Hi Yambie - I think thats a really positive attitude to the add a food week.
Red its only 2 more days - you can do it!

I break my weeks up into days here and there so I can have something to eat on the days when it would be really inconvenient not to. So far it's worked really well, both for weight loss and for helping me keep my mood up for the long term. It does wake my stomach up in terms of hunger (and the most bizarre noises!) but having piles of lettuce with everything seems to help. My latest discovery was grilled green peppers - YUM.
