To go to a meeting or not to go...

that is the question!

I joined WW about 18 months ago, only stuck it out for a couple of months. However, in that time I rarely went to meetings. I bought 2 monthly passes in that time but hardly ever went. I'm not really a joining kinda person and didn't really gel with any of the groups I tried (and there were a few!)

I need to start a diet again asap, and I would like to start off with WW as I lose weight quicker on it, and I think that the initial weight loss will give me that bit of inspiration to carry on.

Is it easy to follow the plan on your own or do you need to join a meeting or do it online.

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

i do it by myself, and have lost 25lbs in ten weeks :)

I have to admit the longer Im on Minimins and the more people I see coming through the forum Id probably recommend going to classes initially, just long enough to get the books and a general knowledge of the diet. I do think classes are great for that, there are so many diet myths etc its always good to have a definitive guide to hand.

Saying that, now that Ive got the books, Im like you, Id rather poke my eyes out than go to classes. If you need the discipline of a weigh in why not get someone to do it for you. I get my mum to weigh me every Monday morning.

Ive got my books, calculator and Minimins, with all that to hand, I wouldnt waste the money for online :)

While I am the opposite. I need the discipline of going to a class every week. Just shows how different we all are.

Good luck

I've got the first 5 weeks booklets, I think! Definitely got the ones that give you the gist of the plan. And I've got a Points calculator. Anything else I need such as the shopping guide can be bought off the website. It's just, almost 20/25 quid a month just to get weighed seems like a waste of money!

£25 you could save for a new top/jeans when you lose weight :)

I have tried classes and doing it alone, and although it is possible for some people to do well without the discipline of the classes - I need them for now anyway.

I tend to agreee with Starlight at least at the start I would recommend classes and after that each to their own whatever works for you.

Good luck with whatever you decide.
