MANAGEMENT

 HI GUYS
SEE I TOLD YOU I WOULD ASK A LOT OF SILLY QUESTIONS BUT.....
SUPPOSE BY DAY 100 I ALL THE WEIGHT ONE WANTED TO LOSE WAS GONE DO WE STILL HAVE TO HAVE PACKS???
I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO EATING SENSIBLY
AND I WANT TO KNOW WHAT TO AVOID IN THE WORLD OF FOOD BUT I REALLY DO NOT DESIRE TO BE ON THE PACKS FOR MORE THAN THE FOUNDATION:confused:

Hi Nicky - see you are in Princes Risborough - lucky you. I used to teach in Longwick and loved the area. Re management - I lost my weight in the 100 days, much to my surprise, so am now on the second week of management. We have 3 packs for 2 wks then 2 a day for 6 weeks then just one a day for the last 4 weeks. It's a really sensible way of getting into healthy eating as different foods are introduced gradually so your glycogen stores rebuild slowly without a sudden demoralising weight gain and more importantly so you work out gradually how you're going to manage your eating for the rest of your life. I wasn't keen to be on packs for so long either but now I'm here I've developed quite an affinity for the lemon bars and choc & vanilla shakes (sad I know!) so it was surprisingly hard deciding what to order for next week! 3 months ago I would not have predicted I'd feel like that.

As Sez says Amanda Jayne is the one to read on management - as someone said recently, how can we get this thread to be a sticky???

Even though I haven't even started my 100 days yet I 've got a question about what happens beyond that, do you still pay the 66 a week or do yo uthen purely pay for the foodpacks?

Thanks

Helen

My LLC has told us that we only pay for the pack that we buy. So the cost will gradually reduce when we are in Mgmt.
I think this is when you start to get really good value for money from LL. If you carry on with the groups - you could effectively be getting them for free once you are off the packs altogether.

Hi wicked witch and pbfhpunk. I think development costs the same as foundation but when you are doing management the cost does reduce - the 1st 2 weeks (3 packs/day) is £49.50, weeks 3-8 is £33 (2 packs) and weeks 9-12 costs £16.50 (1 pack). Thereafter you can go to weekly management meetings if you want at no cost. I think people tend to decrease the frequency of attendance as confidence grows. I think I'll be hanging around for a while!

There is also an option to do 4 week "courses" if things go a bit pear shaped i.e. a short programme to get back in control. There seem to be about 6; for example you can plan to SS for a month if, say, you know you're going to socialise wildly over Christmas and think you'll put on weight or do a month of packs for 2 meals plus a normal meal. I think it's a bit like some of the Cambridge plans but I'm not an expert. There are "mind" activities to do too. I have no intention of SSing ever again but it's quite nice to know there are options.

1st week of management for me next week!
EEK!

You'll be fine - it feels odd at first but it's interesting and I'm enjoying both eating again and the novelty of not wanting to eat a lot. It's exciting to have the opportunity of a fresh start in our eating careers!
