Those going it alone!

How do you find doing WW at home? Ill be honest the meeting I went to last night wasnt nearly as good as the SW one I went to. Admittedly it was a cooking night? She cooked what was suppposed to be a pork stirfry in black bean sauce but she didnt have half the ingredients and had to substitute! That was basically the meeting apart from quickly asking everyone what they had loss/gained! I wasnt that impressed really, been thinking about how I felt about the meeting, The WW leader was nice enough but didnt seem to have the time to explain the plan to me after, she just rushed through it.

Plus its 3 mile away and I was thinking of just getting weighed but then I thought its abit of a trek just to get weighed so would I be better going it alone! Plus I do love the bars you can get from the meetings, lol!

Any thoughts? :D

i do it alone, no meetings no online subscriptions and i have lost 22lbs in 9 weeks and find it easy. if i want the ww products i buy them online/find them in asda or other shops. if u have the equipment you should be fine doing it alone. unless u need the pressure of the "official weigh in". i weigh myself at home.

Ive just seen the bars I like in the WW shop so thats cool! The pressure of an official weigh in, now thats what concerns me. Unless get my Hubby involved as in, have an official weigh in day and time and I have to report back to him, lol!

BTW 22lb in 9wks going it alone is brilliant!

I loveee some of the offical ww bars from the meetings etc, but they are expensive...wish they sold them in asda tho

Thankyou. Get your hubby to weigh you on a day at a certain time, that would put pressure on me too if i got my OH involved, luckily he doesnt live with me, so i just put the pressure on myself instead lol i keep picturing last years bikini photos and i dont want them to be replicated this year lol

I know me too, but at 1 1/2pts they taste so darn good, lol!

you'll be fine going it alone - we'll help you along! i did start by going to meetings a couple of years ago, but after I'd lost the first few lbs I realised how easy it was and then continued alone... i have a graph set up so i can see the weight loss and it gives that bit of 'pressure' cause i want to see it going down not going up... give it a go; if you find it doesn't work for you, you can always go back to class :) x

You can always join up with some of the challenges on here like the 'March Challenge' or see if you can join up with a team? That way you'd have to report back - to us!

what happens at a sw meeting? im intrigued now!

You'll be fine going it alone-all you need is this site and a points calculator! ;)
The only thing I missed about my WW meetings was being able to buy the bars etc...I know you can get them on the website but you've gotta buy more than one box-wayyyy too much temptation!
I think Boots Shapers bars are of a similar points value, and they have some yummy flavours as well! :D

Thanks guys Ill hold you to that :D! Ive asked to join a team but I dont think anyones spotted my post yet. Im going to join some challenges too. Another thing that concerned me last night was that she weighed us on carpet and when I stepped on the scale I felt like I was standing on a surfboard, I did a test today, I weighed on hard floor then carpet, there was a 3st difference:eek::eek::eek:!

they usually put feet that come with the scales on the scales if weighing on carpet.

Can you trust your own scales to be accurate? I have a digital pair.

yeah mine are really accurate :) i compared them with the ones at the doctors lol

Im quite scared of going it alone. I need to have more confidence in myself. TBH If I kept going to meetings I thinkI would just go and get weighed because I didnt find the meeting all that inspiring. So I would save myself £5.50. Im glad I didnt let the leader talk me into getting a monthly pass!

maybe give it a month, get into the swing of things then consider going it alone xx

I think as long as you use your own scales all the time and get weighed at a similar time, you should be fine.

I'm in the same boat, having just swopped over from SW. I'm going to struggle to go to the mtgs as it's not on a day I can make. I also found the WW mtgs pretty dull when I last did it.

Think I'm going to go along to a mtg to buy the shopping and eating out guide and go it alone.

How are you finding being on WW?
I'm feeing bit hungry, but enjoying the freedom of eating whatever I want
:D

Its weird lol, Ive not converted my brain from SW time yet, lol! I had tuna sandwiches on nimble today, I didnt have to think what day I was on or HEX my bread it was a relief. I made a 0pt soup with BNS, peppers, carrots, curry powder, cumin and turmeric and whizzed it up. I had it with my sandwiches at lunch, I was still stuffed at dinner it really filled me up!

I am going to sleep on it and weigh up the pro's and con's of going to a group or going it alone.
