morning every1,

how much do u think is a realistic amount of weight to lose between now and the start of the kids 6 weeks holidays which is about 17th july x
im hoping about 20lb or summit which works out about 1-2lb a week xxx

I really understand why you are asking mate as we all want to know where we will be at a certain point, but try not to put pressure on with 'mini-targets'.

I know a lot of people use these but I think they can be quite destructive. You either meet the target and feel releif or don't meet the target and feel like a failure. I think neither relief or failure are particularly helpful feelings.

Just enjoy the plan, enjoy the health benefits it brings, love the new cooking skills you will aquire and treat and weight loss as a massive bonus- don't use the 'stick' approach to weight loss - use the 'carrot' approach of reward and motivation

Good luck

That sounds perfectly realistic to me!

Do you normally lose 1-2lb a week? I average at 1 a week so this would be a bit optimistic for myself.

Also make sure as with all goals you have factored in occasions coming up where it might be difficult to lose, birthdays etc.

Good luck!
xx

I'm aiming to lose 28lb by July 6 (I started on 8th march) worked out as approx 1.5lb a week. I normally lose 1lb a week but on really good weeks can lose 2 so it seemed pretty reasonable for me, so 20lb should be very acheivable! x

CP speaks such wise words!
Stick to plan 100% and the weight you lose will be the realistic amount.
That said, it's 18 weeks so 18 pound is about right - anything more is a big bonus!

go for 1lb a week - its the best policy - you may have weeks where you dont lose, and weeks you exceed this - but on average a 1lb a week is a sensible pace to lose.

Good luck xxx
