What has happened to Minimins?
Where have all the "old" members gone?
I feel the site has changed, people don't seem to be very supportive any more.

Hi Lou_Lou,

Perhaps if you came on and posted a bit more often you might be more familiar with what is going on as I see you last posted five days ago and before that it was three weeks.

It is easy to feel left out as we have more than doubled in size this year already.

If you post and ask for help, everyone does do their best to respond.

But how can they help if you remain silent:rolleyes:

Love Mini xxx

AWW Lou Lou, we are still here, though I havent seen you for a while.....have you been away. There has been loads of new members joining in the last week.

Only 8lb to go then, how are you feeling ?

We're all still here hun, you only have to ask anything, and someone will be along soon to respond!

As Mini said, there are lots of new members too, and threads move up and down regularly.

Well done on the weight loss too by the way!

I went home for 3 weeks! I didn't have time to post, 3 weeks shouldn't "wipe" me off for good!

This site gets bombared with the same questions and when people are on a low, it just gets ignored!

I'm not the only one who feels this!

Hi Lou Lou

We are all here. This is such a busy, popular forum things move really quickly.

Have you started a diary if not this is a good place to start.

You will get great support here:grouphugg:

Lou Lou......chill.....breathe. You sound like you're getting all flustered and panicked!!

the site gets ignored when people are on a low? eh? I don't understand.

yes, lot of the questions are similar - but thats cause people are new. can't expect everyone to be perfect like me and you though can we?:D

3 weeks is a long time to not be on here....VERY long time. Thats thousands of new threads been created in that time.

Minimins is always very supportive - that hasn't changed, it has never been anything but. The people on here, be they newbies or oldies are very very supportive so I really have no idea what you are on about.

get posting woman, you'll soon feel at home again.

xx

Hi Lou Lou, I second what Coley said, and would like to add that I have been away for only 3 days and already feel like I'm out of touch!!

As for the newbie issue. You and I were newbies once!! We had questions that we wanted answering, and why should that be any different to newbies starting now? I think MiniMins is an invaluable site to new dieters and the support is unlike anything else I've seen! If I ever am on a low there are always people here who will respond, so I dont really know what you're talking about!!

Hope you feel better about things soon xx

Am sorry but I have found this site and the people who frequent it nothing more than courteous, most helpful, extremely supportive and knowledgable on ALL matters, be it a question about Ketosis for the 100th time, or when someone has fallen spectaually off the wagon. Noticed only this evening the sheer amount of newbies and the fact at least 8 people always post a welcome. Not sure if the influx is due to the pink site being down -- but for many this site is a lifeline and I think your comments way off the mark. Who else feels like this as you state? Not seen anyone else post along your lines? I hope you'll soon get back into the swing of things Xx

You are not wiped off.....! Hope you had a great time being home, where is home ?

As there are so many newbies you will find the same question coming round again....but hey we were newbies once too and the older members were probably saying the same then....!
Dont feel so negative, you just need to get back in the swing of things.

Come on Lou Lou - things can't be that bad can they ? It's ok to see the same questions repeated - just shows that newbies have the same problems that we once had. There's LOTS of help and support there - just call out ! Chin up and soldier on !!!!!

Hi Lou Lou
I am not the most frequent of posters and navigate the site in my own little way - just click on new posts and go down the first 20 or so!
That means I miss some - this could be your posts too!
maybe bump your post if it is being ignored?
Stay positive - it helps keep you emotionally focussed in the tough world of losing weight!
Good luck and keep posting!

Hi Lou Lou- can you reflect on why you feel this way about minimins? Is it because you have been away and you feel you hav emissed things. I joined after you, and yes there are lots and lots of repeated questions- but isn't it wonderful that so many people out there have found this forum as a way of supporting their dieting and taking control of their lives? I skip loads of threads now, but I remember reading almost every post avidly in the first few weeks- kept me away from the fridge. I think all the newbies deserve that support too! If there are particular people on the forum that you want to catch up with why don't you PM? And I'm sure you are not being ignored- send another message to your thread if it drops down so quickly that it gets missed. The support you need is still here!

Just a thought, if you added a banner across the top asking new comers to use the search button before posting it may stop a lot of repeated questions. Not that you want to deter people from asking but things such as ketosis questions that get asked over and over again could be answered by a click on the search. A lot of people who are not computer minded may not be aware of it. Or perhaps a topic which is the most commonly asked questions.
There again you might think its useless idea but i know it works on other big forums. :)

Just wanted to say i am a newbie to this Minimins but not to the diet. Sorry i am not a oldie.

Finding this site really friendly and informative so far.

GOOD LUCK with the last 8 pounds to goal.

dont understand how you could be getting this feeling, this is the most supportive site around !!!
if you didnt post for 3 weeks how can you be being ingnored?
lou lou I think if you just pop up a bit more and reply to other peoples threads you will soon feel right back at home, and why would you think you had been wiped off the radar?
people I have seen come back after months and slip back into it
just post a bit more and relax
nat xxxxxx

That is a great idea to have a newbie FAQ posts, which I would have found really helpful when I first started. How about it minimins?

Lou Lou is my sister and we did have a conversation the other week on the phone that this forum had changed since Jan/Feb time.

Maybe that is due to the fact that we avidley visted every day for months for support and advice - as we had just started the diet, and of course that is what newbies are doing right now - which is why the FAQ would be a great idea.

I must say that now I am in control of the diet I don't post as often as when I first started, however my responses to posts from other uses have gradually diminished compared to back in Jan/Feb. I also think it was very busy when myself and Lou Lou joined the forum, maybe because people started diets at this time of year then maybe give them up by March time.

Lou Lou and myself have stuck to it and lost 6-7 stone between us which is great. Unfortunatley we missed the minimins meet up in Birmingham due to having to do our mothers assignment for work! But we will be coming to the one in Sept. I don't think Lou Lou ment to offend anyone or anything but she felt that the oldies from back in Jan (madamdotty, russiandoll etc) had gone/ or are not posting as much. Diary idea is great, but I only have 1 stone to goal and Lou is nearly at goal. We both love this forum and it has really helped our weight loss. Come on oldies post again xxx. Love bunnycd xxxxx:)

Hi Lou Lou, I am new to this site, and i expect it has changed, but the support is still here, even us newbies can be supportive, promise:D Chin up, we are here. Take care.

See...every new member gets a Welcome and told how to navigate the site. There are also ooooooodles of stickys at the top of each forum. The info is there, it's just a case a lot of the time to point them in the right direction.

MD and RD do both still post. MD posts all the time!!! lol, RD is at uni - she has exams.

These people are still around, as am I so still quite confused what this whole changed since jan/feb stuff is about.
